I can most definitely wait. I had a rehearsal there today, it is by far one of the most unpleasant places I've ever played. On stage its cold and very very windy, everything has to be pegged which makes page turns a real problem. Today we did a sound check it took well over an hour to do the whole orchestra. I still can't play Mozart. Hopefully tomorrows concert will be nicer.

I got back from my concert. It was a lot better than I thought, we played the 1812 overture which of course means CANNONS! unfortunately they were right behind the bass section:mad: A observant person would have noticed the whole bass section putting in ear plugs in the bars leading up to the first cannon fire:p

I did a blues fest last night.
I played with the two heading bands.
2 hours straight with each band.
Great turn out and great P.A. support.
The best part was playing through the old svt I borrowed while mines in the shop.
I'm still grinning.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't somebody tell me how much FUN this is??!!?!?!?!?!?! We played our show last night...there was about 125-150 people...everything went GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Before teh show I started to work myself up into a panic...hard to breath...shaky hands...the whole thing, but my guitar player talked me down some...and about half way through the first song all of that scared energy turned into FUN and Excited energy!!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Everything went off without a hitch...I made a couple of mistakes...no one noticed. Anyway, just wanted to share...and we got about 4 more jobs lined up just from that one party...YEAH!!!! Time to go practice!!!!!!

Had a up and down one Friday night.

Bad news:

Sound guy was a tool (and a weirdo to boot). The venue was a TOTAL dive, monitors sucked beyond belief. Didn't want to even give us a line check until we threatened to call the owner (who knows our lead guitarist). It's not like we were short on time...there was over an hour to doors...he was just lazy.

We were third on a four band bill (blech). First up was a singer / songwriter so boring that he could have put zombies to sleep.

The second act was very possibly the worst band I've ever seen. It got so bad during their set that the lead singer from the last band asked the manager, "How many customers have to leave before you kick these idiots off stage!!?!?!??" Did I mention that during all this, the sound guy was outside having a smoke...and I mean for their ENTIRE set????

We had a little talk with the boy (and he was a boy, 21 or 22 years old) before our set about the expectation that he be at the board, doing his job. It worked.

Good news:

Twas a very good performance, and energy was excellent. We cleared out the bar area during our set...everyone was in front of the stage! Woohoo!

Our gig Saturday turned out much better than anticipated. We ran our own sound due to the small place & low pay. But the crowd really got into it. At first we figured on a crowd of 20 at best but the place ballooned up quite quickly and the bar owner was smiling all night. I think we will be asked to come back!!!

The exiting bass player & I switched on & off songs to give each other time.

Had one of our funnest gigs ever (OK, there have only been 6 or 7 gigs total but this one is near the top) last Friday. We were playing at our local minor league team's baseball game. We were playing out in front of the stadium after the game and while the game was a sellout (5500 people or so) about 200 stuck around to listen to us which was pretty cool. Very fun time, good crowd, and the pay was the best we have had.

After the gig we got some amazingly positive feedback from many people and even had to sign some autographs for some of the fans. Most of the band was exhausted from an extremly busy week beforehand but it was one of the best shows we have ever played. Good times.

Last rehearsal tonight, before our 1st gig as a band this friday. This was a very popular cover band in the late 80s-early 90s. I'm the newcomer in the reunion. Some of us are ready, me, singer, guitarist. Some of us are not, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It's in Hoboken, NJ. 4th & Monroe @ a club called the Monroe. Come out and support a fellow TB'r, I could use the mental support.

Well just got back from playing the ritz on Martha's Vineyard (Ma.). It's always a fun gig, small room, no stage and gets crowded. Really more of a vacation with pay. Tonight I'm playing my weekly BBQ jam, 100 bucks and free BBQ, can't forget to pack the tupperware fpr lunch the rest of the week.
Sunday 8/10, my zydeco band will be playing at 4.30 at Musikfest in Bethlehem PA., so if anyone's planning on going stop by and say hi.

I'm going to have the biggest gig i've ever had in my life this friday. There are going to be at least 200 people, possibly up to 300. Since live music is uncommon in israel, it's considered huge by any standard.

It's going to be a solo gig of our band only in tel aviv, which makes it even bigger. We're going to play our original songs first (4 songs), while the audience is fresh and then we'll play ~10 covers of the russian famous rock band Kino.

The only problem is that i wks caught with a cell phone on a guarding tower by an officer yesterday. The punishment is going to be real bad and it might even get me to a military prison for a while.
I'll do anything to avoid it, at least untill saturday morning.

Sucks to be me. :/

OK, the gig is today, I'm going out with my two basses (Fender MIA Std. J-Bass and Yamaha BB614) in 30 minutes. I'll use the Yamaha for a song I'm playing in drop-d and have it there just as backup.

The setlist contains a total of 20 (!!!) songs. 4 of our originals, the rest is covers. In the middle of it all, there will be a short pause for most of the band, where only our two guitarists will play on acoustic guitars for 3 songs and near the ending of the 3rd song the whole band will get in together.


My trial will be on Sunday, luckily. Rumor came to me that they will check my phone's camera and if they decide it works (Which is a lie. The lense is colored with a permanent marker, covered in glue and locked behind the phone's back panel which can't be opened without tools), I'm going to military prison for at least 21 days. ._.

OK, here it goes. The 1st 'Reunion' gig of Centerfold (80s covers) is tonight @ the Monroe. 4th & Monre in Hoboken, NJ. I'm psyc'd, rehearsal went great the the other night. The "offt draggers" had their act together and we sounded great. Damn, I want to leave for the gig right now. :hyper::bassist: They were actually a pretty big draw, back in the day. A lot of the old crowd seems to be coming too. I'm the only "new" member, but I'm not worried.

The gig went fine. Surpsingly, I wasn't nervous at all. Weird. Maybe I'm just too apathic about this whole planet, lol.

'Oh, I'm going to prison. ok.' Pretty much.

During one of the songs, my amp disconnected from the electricity and the whole band went " :O ! ", but I got it back in in a flash. Obviously, everyone had lots of little mistakes, but the groove was well and the crowd enjoyed.

We were told they enjoyed our songs more than the covers. :)
