That particular bass when i picked it up at NAMM was a Poly Body.. Actually the first POLY body from Jimmy's painter before he left NYC. That bass was finished on NYE 2007.
I got black because we wanted to demo the new painter guy.. and we all know how hard it is to do a good black..
So the body was Poly but the neck and headstock was Nitro. because i dont like the poly feel on a neck.. And like i said it was the first kbp5
A few weeks later Jimmy made me a new neck with a DN fingerboard,, That neck was finished in Nitro too.. but with a slight tint.. That is the way it was when i traded it for the new NAMM show sparkle bass that i have been gigging with.. And i have to thank BassDoubler for Mitch for checking it out in the shop when he was there since i couldnt make it to LA at that time.. He gave the two thumbs up.. And he was right.. It growls!

Kirk, do you remember if your old black KBP5 was nitro or poly?
