Just got these vids back from a session I did a few months ago in NYC that we had a bunch of film dudes come and record....I had literally just gotten my TB LM5 so I was still workin the kinks out but here's a clip of one of my solos so you can get an idea of how the LM sounds

Mitch Friedman bass solo w/ Alleva Coppolo LM5 - YouTube

If you want to see the full vid with all three jams here it is!

Harvestworks Jam - YouTube

Hope you guys dig!
I'm listening to the full video now and digging it quite a bit.

Sounds great as usual, Mitch. The Diamonds sound cool on the LM (....they feel really nice dont they?) :)

thanks Mitch! Yeah they're awesome strings and they have this great smooth feeling that sort of leans towards flats but then they punch like rounds....very cool....I've actually stopped using those strings on that bass though because when they start to die a little, the thud they make just doesn't cut well with the LM. The RA on the other hand loves those strings all day every day! I'm using the regular BD nickel rounds on the LM now and they sound amazingly fat and clear.

Great playing Mitch. The footage is amazing too -- very cool stuff.

Nice work Mitch, great tone and playing!

Jimmy/Rick need to link that to the A-C website... I'll let them know.

dope! thanks Yohann that would be cool! and thanks for the kind words everybody!

@Joel- this was partially a project for some film kids at NYU where I went to school so we just jammed and they filmed us all from different angles with Canon 5Ds and 7Ds which look incredible. The Audio was going right into Protools and my buddy just did a little tweaking. Apparently the bass track he ended up using was just my AC going into my Monique pre/DI and direct into the board even though I had a line coming out of my IAmp Pro as well as a mic inside my EA Rumble Seat....

@Hou- I had put aside cash for a Hippy Dippy 5 and was hoping to try one out in person when I visited Jimmy's shop in CA but he didn't have any made! I ended up pulling the plug on the TB LM5 and I really couldn't justify having an AC jazz 5 without the option of having the pre there....they sound wonderful passive but for me a lot of that magic is in the pre....just my .02 :D

Yeah, those jams were awesome... I was REALLY hoping you were gonna' say they were for an upcoming recording project that was gonna' be up on iTunes or something someday. I'd be first in line! :)

I also agree with what you're saying about passive/active and such. I love the passive tone of my LG, but there is a LOT of mojo in Jimmy's preamp... definitely one of the best I've ever heard.

Sounds great Mitch. OT, but you got the Rumble Seat working again? cool.

Thanks Marshall! Yeah! I'm apparently endorsed by EA now so I called up John Dong and he sent me another woofer....Even more OT but I recently picked up one of the new 410 cabs and it is insane! So light too!

haha thanks Vic unfortunately it will never make it's way to Itunes but I'm glad you dig the jams....

I've used every one of my ACs both live and in the studio and I've had many engineers prefer the fullness of the sound with the pre on rather than in passive mode....I just did a session with the LM5 through my '64 Ampeg SB-12 and it sounded incredible with that bass boost from the pre....just so musical and vintage Fender-y sounding it's def a secret weapon

I'm thinking in letting go this LM5 Deluxe... NAAAAAAA!!! JUST JOKING!! :)

That's great Mitch, great guys over at EA and you of course deserve it.

Very good video, and of course great bass.

Thank you. And good luck on the next tour.
