Vic I am assuming your PJ is a Sadowsky...
Yeah. Metro actually.

Two questions, where is the J located 60s or 70s spacing and is there a standard for what most guys prefer?
Dunno for sure but I think most are 60's or close to it. In the case of Sadowsky, it's just slightly closer to the bridge, but still closer to 60's spaced than 70's.

Secondly I don't understand why most of the PJs are on J bodies while the majority of originally modded Fenders were Ps with an added J pickup?
Good question, tho I guess I didn't know most were J bodies. Mine is, and I like that best, but Sadowsky does offer both.

Any folks in Boston with an AC? Just moved here a month ago, and am starting (late, because I just turned 26) at Berklee in January. Really want a 34 inch scale fiver. Due to the prices, I'm not confident enough to order one without playing one.

man i had the exact dilema with my AC as well. but i in the end i just said this just feels right after having a good convo with jimmy. i just got mine yesterday and about to gig with it tonight and this bass seriously feels like a piece of art it is so beautiful i dont regret a single cent i spent on it. good luck

Dave, AWESOME basses... one question... what's up with the unique B string on the KBP?

Hi Vic,

When I ordered the LG5 I wanted it set up with Labella flats. Jimmy didn't have any 5 string sets but had a 4 string set and a loose b which happened to be red. When I got the KBP5 I swapped over those flats. The tone was so cool they've stayed. The LG5 typically wears rounds but I usually put on a set of used Sadowsky flats for a week or two before installing the new rounds.

Poly or nitro?

The LG5 is poly and the KBP5 is nitro.

I initially ordered the KBP with a satin poly neck to match the feel of the LG but Jimmy thought better and shot nitro without charge and told me he'd swap it later if I wanted. Needless to say I've kept the nitro neck, which has been great since it lost its initial tackiness.
