I am going to NYC tomorrow for work and Thanksgiving to be with Family... My new LG5 should be done by next monday.. I think i will have the only LG5 in Inca Silver and a Dot maple fingerboard and Nitro tint.. cant wait to post pics when i get back

My new LG-5 came yesterday 
My initial fears about a slack b string have been proven wrong.
I'll post some pics over the upcoming weekend and a review next week after its seen some some action with the band. In the basement it certainly sounds amazing. I can't believe how natural the pre sounds as it's the first active bass I've liked.
I do have a question regarding strings. I normally play flats. DR high beam flats on two Fender pjs, chromes on a Dingwall AB1, and labellas on a Nash Jazz. While I like the tone of the strings the bass shipped with I'm not used to the string noise from round wounds. I put on a set of labellas with the bass and while I like the feel and the lack of string noise they sound more muted than I like. Any else using flats if so what kind? Any round wounds I should try that might not have as much noise? DR sunbeams maybe.

I HIGHLY recommend Sadowsky strings...the newly formulated Nickels are excellent as far as feel and tension is concerned and no where as near as noisy as most of the stuff I have tried over the years (which is more or less everything) I do a LOT of studio work and my tracks always come out very clean with the Nickels. I put a set of Sadwosky flats on my LG-5 last week for kicks and grins and it is fat as he77! I haven't used any other flats since I started using the Sadowksys a couple of years ago. They are perfect tension, VERY smooth and buttery feeling, have excellent definition and very good tone characteristics. They seem to be bit a brighter (especially the G) than most flats (in a good way) and sing very clearly without the usual thud and fade. Try them, I almost would go so far as to guarantee that you'd like them....

Thanks Tom. I'll give the Sadowsky flats a try. I played it again last night after posting and came to the realization that a lot of what I was hearing was due to ear fatigue. I'd been playing with the rounds on all day and it was a drastic switch going to the flats. After a few hours away from the bass the sound was closer to what I was expecting from the Labellas.

Sweet bass and my favorite color too.
I've become a fan of the matching headstock since I got my Dakota red LG-5.
You just need a tort guard.
