If you post a pic of the cavity we can probably tell you what the switch does. Another excuse for photos… even if it is a bass backside!

definitely a coil tap.

With the bass plugged in to an amp but not too loudly… with switch in one position, tap a screwdriver on the poles and see which ones make a noise. Then flip the switch and do it again. That will tell you which coils are on vs. off when the switch is flipped. I’m sure there are more technical ways to figure it out but that’s my backyard method!

A really great tone! It shines through on the bass and drums track.

I’m happy to say that I am the newest owner of one of Tom Clement’s amazing creations. This beauty arrived today, and pictures don’t do it justice!

A full NBD thread will be coming soon, but I can confirm that all the good things people say on this thread about Tom’s work are true (and then some), and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. I will miss our email exchanges

For anyone lurking on this thread (like I was) trying to decide if your next bass should be a Clement, let me wholeheartedly encourage you to take the plunge and work with Tom. You won’t regret it!

It’s been about three weeks since I got this beauty, and I figure I have a good enough idea of how it turned out to post a review.

Let me start by saying that working with Tom Clement was an absolute pleasure. Tom was incredibly communicative and collaborative throughout the entire process. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, and offered thoughtful guidance along the way — even advising against certain ideas when he felt they wouldn’t work out well.

The finished bass is everything I hoped for and more. It...
