The ad won't last forever but this thread will, so I quote:
"SEEKING DRUMMER Not From New Mexico for 80's - Styled Rock Cover Gig (Albuquerque)
Basically requesting the impossible here, but searching for any drummers with backing vocal ability, live gigging experience, ability to play to a click and a cool look who recently moved to Albuquerque or are moving here soon.
NOTE: The photos with the captions are who we are currently NOT considering. See below.
The gig: An organized, rock tribute-style show. Some 60's some 70's, mostly 80's and some 90's hard rock covers. Bands like Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Priest, Ratt, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Motley, Van Halen, Dio, Zepplin, Kiss, Rush, basically all the best bands across a 30-year era. No touring, no need to quit your day job and you can still play in another band if you have one.
Other: The drum kit is provided and goes with the show, you can use your own cymbals, pedals and throne. You can set the kit up however you like and your monitor mix as well. The set list is already done, full professional PA, lights, etc.
This is not the usual Albuquerque-level lounge cover band, that's why we are seeking drummers from larger markets who hopefully understand what a tribute-type band is and perhaps even have played in one. Dependability and professionalism is a must.
If interested please FOLLOW these instructions and reply with:
1. A current, clear photo of yourself or social media account with a recent, clear photo of yourself.
2. Your backing vocal ability.
3. Your live playing experience and if you're capable with playing to a click.
4. Your musical influences.
If we think you're a good fit for what we're looking for then you'll hear back. If not, then best wishes.
Who we are NOT considering (photos attached)
THE "GUYS WHO PLAY GIGS IN THEIR WALMART COUCH POTATO CLOTHES"
- The guys who think doing weekend yard work and playing are the same thing. Also guys who think playing 'Mustang Sally' is really shaking a leg a little too much.
"THE EGOMANIAC"
- Every band in every town has this problem and it's not happening in this project.
THE CAREER CRIMINAL
- Had plenty of these reply. Always proud of their continuing career in state correctional facilities, the first to ask where the band equipment is and repeatedly likes to mention that he busted open his last bandmate's skull just for asking him to be on time to practice. Always wants to bring his cousin or his homies to practice with him so that they know the way to where all the gear is.
THE SHAVED HEAD & GOATEE CLONE
- Every bald guy wants to be "the danger", but let's face it bald dudes, you ain't Heisenberg just because you grow a bird's nest on your face. Maybe a badass wig would at least get you some points for originality.
THE OVER-SIZED SPORTS JERSEY GUY
- Yup, yet another played out, stereotypical, lazy slob look. Sort of like the sandals with socks pulled up to the knees. And the camo shorts -- just stop it already.
THE STEVEN SEGAL / PONYTAIL OF SHAME GUY
- Got the baggy jeans, the weekend couch potato shirt and the hair that once it's pulled back into a tail and glued down, it ain't comin' out for no gig. It says, "I'm a rocker, just not when I'm rockin'".
THE "TRYING TO HIDE MY FAT NECK WITH A GOATEE" GUY
- It flat out doesn't work. But still every guy with a fat neck wears it like it's a "life preserver for his sexiness". It's girl-repellant.
THE SHAVED HEAD & GOATEE CLONE
- An epidemic so bad it has to be dealt with twice.
If you notice a continuing theme here, it's because we've heard from every time-waster hobbyist on Craigslist and are hoping to reach some new, more professional-minded guys. Might as well buy a lottery ticket today as well."
