Crossdressing and bandmates.

IMO opinion it should be OK regardless the band as long as you are wearing appropriate clothing, like if you are in a jazz quartet playing in a restaurant wear night black formal dress, or if you are on a country band playing a summer outdoors gig well wear your cowboy boots and jeans (shorts if you have the legs). Cross dressing doesn't mean you can wear whatever you want, still need to have some common sense and dress according to the situation.

I still would let the rest of the band know before going on stage ... Just because that's the kinda of world we live in right now.

When I was young I had hairy legs. They were nice but hairy. Now I'm older and years of pants rubbing my legs wore off the hair. Still nice legs but I would look like a foodball player in heels at this stage in life. Can't do heels. Once our booking agent asked us to do a crossdressing show but some of the guys had new girlfriends and where too worried about losing them.

I'm glad dressing like that makes tbird happy and he has a great following. That is truly a gift. Somewhere in the back of my mind my hippie side says when one is living nirvana they got everything right in the previous live and now's reward time.

Enjoy yourself, tell the band first. This is 2016. Everything goes. Just be careful what bathroom you go in! :eek:

People bring up the bathroom thing. I dunno if it's like this in other places, but I used to go to club in Grand Rapids called RUMORS, and more than once I went into the womens room. Not on purpose, but because I completely wasted and it's an easy mistake to make at that club, or at least it was we I went there. It was never an issue, and sometimes they helped me adjust my make up and stuff. Very positive stuff.

My .02:

There are two separate questions in this. One is whether it's comfortable for you; you say it is, and you'd like to do it. The other is whether it would work for the band as a musical entity, and it sounds like it might from the discussions you described about the look the band wants to achieve, kinda glam and maybe a bit edgy.

I take that approach to how I dress onstage. I want to wear something that feels good to me and works for the band, entertaining our audience in the venue.* Comes down to finding that sweet spot of satisfying both individual and social needs. When that happens, 'sall good.

* Turns out for me it's most often a long sleeve paisley shirt, jeans, ball cap, and Yeazies.

True story here in NC it's now against the law for anyone over 12 years of age to go into a bathroom that doesn't Match the gender on their birth certificate. Could be transgender Whos already had some surgery but if they haven't changed their birth certificate they can get in legal trouble. Personally I think it's a stupid law made up by people who fear what they don't understand. The joke of it is now we have transgender woman with breasts using the men's room and transgender men who have beards going into the ladies room.

I disagree with the act of doing it? I would care because it would make me uncomfortable? I'm not going to tell the person to quit doing it or whatever because it's not like they're someone I personally interact with or whatever, but in general I disagree with the act.

the OP didn't say he cross dressed on stage. how would you even know if you had a crossdresser in your band? many guys simply like the feel of women's underwear against their junk and don't announce it to the world.

On or off stage doesn't matter IMO. We all have choices. Folks have a choice to cross dress, and I have a choice to no be in a band with them.

He's made uncomfortable by fabrics guys. Don't pick on him too much.
