Heya BassGen. I'm here. It was quiet so I wandered around for a while and got sidetracked. It's budget week at work. Bleh.

But when that's over with, then it'll be smooth sailing for at least a day or two. LOL.

Just finished 2 hours of practice. Callouses are getting pretty sturdy again.

It would rock my world if anyone from CWB showed up at the show in Toronto May 5. I know it is highly unlikely but if by chance let me know. It's a charity show at a legion and the organizers are charging $20 each. It makes me nervous to be the main (only) act but the band is finally rehearsing like crazy. I think we will be well dialed in.

Oh and we are playing for free. All proceeds are for the charity. I have to ask our singer again which one it is.

Yanno - you shouldn't ever rule out the possibility of my randomly appearing somewhere at someone's gig. At some point along the line, they're going to put one of those weird hats on me and it'll be like a real-live game of Where's Waldo? or Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?

I wonder - if I come up that way, how many TBers can I hang with in one weekend?

J...

You realize the Thumpketeers are ALL expert stealthy stalkers, don't you? Even if you're sure they aren't there, odds are good at least one is and you just don't know it.

They have eyes EVERYWHERE!

That's why I sometimes leave my shades up on purpose. It makes sure it was worth them going through the trouble of stalking. Plus, without admitting to anything, I might kinda like knowing they're watching .....

:D

You know, I might not be a stalkee. I may actually be a very skilled, alarmingly patient, and extremely dangerous type of hunter myself, adept at drawing in the hunter and turning them into the hunted without them even realizing that it's happening .......

One might only hope. :smug:

However, since you've failed to catch any of us, or even get remotely close, it's my opinion that you're bluffing just to see if you can get us closer to your window. :p

(*continues pretending I'm completely unaware that stalkers are ever nearby.....*)

Pish tosh. You haven't even yet begun to witness mediocrity since I rarely let people see/hear me play.

:p:p:p:p:p
"I say 'pish tosh' to that, not beacuse it means anything, but just because it's fun to say." - Scott Adams, The Dilbert Principle

I guess that book really did stick with me far better, not to mention that it was 100X more useful in the real world, than anything I read/learned in grad school. That quote just popped right into my head when I read your post. :p

Well I will post the details once I have them. So far I know May 5 and the venue. I plan to post it in the Toronto GTG thread to in case any of those guys are interested in coming by.

Singer is great at promising to do stuff then leaving it to the last minute.

i.e.
Saturday - Great rehearsal. I'll send out a set list so we all know what to work on for next week.

Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur - Emails from us "Do we have a set list?"

Friday - "Here's the set list. Let's really work on this."

I've seen and heard you play Tat, and you are not giving yourself credit. You and I started playing within weeks of each other and I'm more mediocre. :)

Speaking of mediocrity, tonight I have audition for a local blues band... as a bassist. A good friend (who was a student of mine) is the drummer. I don't know if I'm ready for this, but we shall see.

I spent the morning figuring out how to transpose the different blues progressions that I know into different keys.

I don't even have a song list, wish me luck.

Good luck, and have fun with it!

That's great, Mike. Good luck.

If you think about it, you have the advantage of years of playing drums. I'll bet you lock right in without even having to think about doing it.

Good Luck! Basic blues is a snap!

Well, aside form landing the sub gig for the festival, it was an uneventful week in Lake WhoaBigOne.

Tommorow is the special day (and a half) I have been waiting for. I may be around, I may not. I might be sober, but I seriously doubt it, so if I say anything stupid, I apologize in advance. :o

I am back to work Thursday PM for a few hours. And off again Friday, just for mischief.

Took off yesterday as I was sick and wrapped myself in a blanket and watched TV with one brain lobe on standby. Came back to work this afternoon, got caught up.

Good for now.
