Cool - we can shop together!!!! I stopped at GC on the way home from work yesterday to look at heads and cabs. Didn't see anything I liked, but I did futz around with a Rickenbacker for a while. I'm not sure I liked it. I figure if I have to ponder, then I didn't like it that much.

I wasn't sure about my Ric's when I first got them. Now I can't put them down. And talk about tine! They sound so good!

I played one of those at GC a few weeks ago and thought it was sweet for the price ( they were blowing some out for like $150 or so)

SansAmp will definitely be nice for tone shaping. Honestly brother if you are looking for a fat sounding amp at the $500 price point, I'd look into a MarkBass LMII or LMIII. They sound great set flat ( more like a prebuilt-in sound) and have two filters that can do drastic changes to the tone by just a knob swipe. I've had a few of them and always ran them flat with the VLE off and the VLP at about 9:00. I like a sound in-between what you and Tat are describing. Mids need to be present.

I'd say my ideal tone is playing a Steinway with a ball peen hammer that I can control the attack with my hands. Yeah Baby!!! ball-peen on a Steinway!!!!

I also have a LM II. It takes a bit of messing around to get the hang of all the settings but the range of sound you can dial up is impressive.

Mule, thanks for the heads up about the Ampeg micro stuff. I've heard that a lot of people are having issues as well. The Acoustic B200 head is pretty much the same as my Kustom KB200, so the only Acoustic head that I would consider is the B600. I liked your test vid for your new camera. That bass you are playing is beautiful!

Hi all.

I thought that I'd poke my head in for a minute.

I just read through the last couple of pages, I had a good laugh. (Thank you.)

We are on our way to the hospital, I can't put into words how much I wish that I were on my way to Florida. Try to leave some of the state unmolested as I hope to visit there again in the next year or two.

I'd be the most obnoxious tambourine player ever.
Using the ball peen technique on the tambourine, too? Now THAT'S metal!

And why are you packing, anyway? Everything we were planning to do was going to be naked - remember?
That's exactly the reason my stealthy ninja stalking team and I have already set up the audio/video/IR gear and is in position.

SHOES AND SHOES AND SHOES AND SHOES AND SHOES, OH! AND SHOES!!!
Naked and shoes is very good, but preferably if they're high heels. And, knowing how much I can count on you two to do it right, I also know that went completely without having to say. If I can make a request, adding fine jewelry to that ensemble would be the sexiest outfit a woman can possibly wear - high heels and jewelry. :hyper:

Now I'm off to run the equipment (all of it! :D) through final tests before the Furricane hits Central FL. :D

DT, the B600 would throw you some serious juice. If i happened to be in your shoes I'd consider the Aguilar TH500. Great mid control, power, tone, and 4lbs.

Hi everyone. Just a quick checking after catching up. Mike, I hope everything turns out well, and thoughts are headed your way. Tat, Nice room remodel. Can I hire you to redo my garage/bass room! Furry, I hope Florida is aware of the events that are heading their way. A perfect storm is brewing when two heavenly bodies join up. Five bucks says Jim Cantorie is there to cover the event!

Reading the exchange with Mule and Dave have me GAS-ing for a new amp, but I really have no complaints with my Acoustic.

With the advent of spring here in Cheeseland, my eye continues to peruse CL looking for this years $20 bass rediscover project. Mrs Wacko just shakes her head......

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

My wife does the same thing whenever I peruse CL, Ebay, and the classifieds on this site.

Mike, we're so sorry for everything you and Jackie (Hi to Jackie!!!!) Have had to go through. Its much more than your fair share. Hopefully you guys get some super wonderful news to balance things out. (:

I can't make any promises on FL, but I'll try.....that weird part right at the top...we'll probably miss that part, as those sort of parts usually seem to go neglected. (:

Hey Furry, several years ago I did some engineering work at Juan Benito High School (I believe that was the name) in Chicago. The maintenance people told me the administration could not have a school assembly w/o first having the event blessed by the various gang leaders. I also did work in Flint, MI where all the neighbors to the school had bars on their windows. I was packing in both places the whole time I was working. But then, I pack anywhere I go anyway...only legally in most places. Is the environment as dangerously volatile as it seems?

It definitely can be, yes. I used to live just outside the city, and there was some crazy stuff that went down, but I'm a suburban gal now. (: Its amazing the difference just a few miles can make.

We promise to replant any trees that are destroyed in the Her-icanes, but I can't promise that we can undo the damage at any clubs we might visit. Rest assured - there are enough clubs that we could just go to different places when you and Jackie arrive. The secret is for me to avoid them long enough that they get new bartenders who don't know me. The memories will fade in time as long as we're careful with the pictures. :ninja:

Hope things improve on that hospital front. Prayers are being said often for your family.

Does that mean that shortly after FM's arrival we'll be receiving packages filled with awesome gifts of fine jewelry to model while under surveillance? That would be the best stalker scenario EVER. :D
