Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

That's the spirit!:roflmao:

Jumped on that one on Prymaxe, can't wait to get it on my board. Bit of a spending spree lately, ordered a Master Effects Super 300, picked up a Fairfield Accountant arriving tomorrow, and now the MBD2. If it all goes to plan, I may have dropped the GAS level to near zero.
Hondo's vids really did it for me for the S300, and the MBD2. Just what I needed to hear.

Also, Prymaxe is often a great place to find used/demo gear. They list on reverb.com, usually ~$10-12 more than the price on their site. They're also pretty quick to drop the price if it's not moving. No affiliation, just found a few good deals recently.

Just picked up a used MBD-1 and I’m deeply impressed. Spans the range I seek in a bass dirt box: from moderate OD to mid-gain, throaty distortion. I find that I ride the CLEAN and DEPTH pots very low (15” JBL K130 & K140 speakers in my rig...) and this provides a fat growl with nice midrange focus.

For a subtle tube compression style of OD, I’ll still reach for my Bearfoot 3BOD, but for the grind with roundwounds and a fat pick… this thing rules.

Prymaxe's used and demo gear is often just them saying something is used to skirt MAP rules.

Was about to reply that that didn't seem like a solid business practice, buying at probably 40 points off MAP, and then selling at 35 points below MAP, yada, yada... and then I got this in my inbox:

Definitely not relisted; mine is sitting on the kitchen table..

It's selling for $9 less on their site, and they're showing 0 in stock at the regular price.

I’ve had good experiences with Prymaxe but I operate under the assumption that the gear I’m Buying has been used. I know there are a lot of folks who have a problem with their business practices and I understand that position completely.

I bought a "used" one from their site the same day as you and got the same notification from Reverb. I guess they perpetually have a Demo unit in stock.

Whatever the case, I'm glad to have the V2 of this pedal. I sold the V1 month's ago to try other pedals and the V2 is everything I've been missing and more.

I just bought an MBD-2 through eBay with them as the seller for that price listed as “open box”. Looked new to me, even had the pick and earplugs in the box. The only thing that might have been missing was a manual (if one is normally included) and the insert for sample settings.

I'm finally in the Damnation game!

Nice. Basically got (part of) the same setup going with the MBD, Battalion, and the Muff.

Not to derail, but how do you like the battalion? I keep thinking a fancy new drive will come along to replace it. But it does the OCD mid-heavy overdrive drive thing really well. Especially since im running into a tube amp nowadays.

How are you using yours?

My board has changed a bit since that post but yet the Battalion is still there :D
I love the Battalion, it was my main/only always on light overdrive for a long time. Now it shares duties with the Li'l Fella.
The Battalion is always on for finger style and the Li'l Fella is always on when I play with a pick which I'm doing more of these days.
To stay on topic, the MBD-2 is for when things get nasty!

Did I make a mistake? I just ordered from them and it said 2 day delivery. I thought it was a good price and I heard nothing but good things about this pedal. But at this price I thought I got a fairly good deal. So what am I expecting?

I’ve not had any bad experiences with them. Some people have I think but I’ve bought from them quite a few times and always received the pedal and haven’t had any reason to complain. Returns were always pretty smooth as far as that goes.
