There's just something otherworldly awesome about the neck on the Z/Prima line. I thought my ABs were the "be all, end all" -- but my Prima drastically changed my mind on that. I want to add a Z3 to my stable... just waiting on the right one to pop up at the right price now.

Here it is! Got it back from Mo today and it's absolutely perfect! Started out as a factory Combustion 5 3X with Dbird switch. The factory Dbird settings didn't really work for me because my core sound is built around passive tones like P bass and raspy Gibson humbuckers with more open mids.

I had Mo install series/parallel switches for each pickup and a passive tone control concentric with the master volume. He also installed a new 6 position rotary switch with the custom settings I specified: Neck - Neck/Middle in series - Middle - Neck/Bridge (Jazz style) - Middle/Bridge in series - Bridge

I swapped the Hipshot Y tuners for Clovers and installed a faux anodized gold guard from WD, they did a great job, perfect fit. This bass can literally do it all from old school passive tones to bright and modern. Thanks @maurilio can't wait to play my first gig with it this weekend!

The clovers are an adjustment to look at on the long scale body but it looks really sharp man. It’s a weird but awesome twist from the inspiration. Clean work by Mo.

Thanks, I appreciate it! My bands are fairly traditional in look and sound and I tried to marry the two the best I could. It sounds like a beast and the build quality is among the best basses I own, I'm loving it so far. I like the Sadowsky style knobs in general but I may go chrome for consistency.

I'm gonna have to try to convince Sheldon to build me a SJ/SP with a Z3 neck profile at some point

You’ll never stop coveting Dingwall basses. Of that I can assure you! But it’s nice to know you have what is doing it for you in hand for sure.

I'm pretty happy now. I have an AB and a Combustion. I have modified them to suit me. I'm done. In fact, I'm trying to sell some 4 and 5 string basses in the classifieds now.
The only GAS I have is for new pedals and an amp.
Well, I would like a 5 string fretless, but multi-scale doesn't enter into that equation. I don't think I could handle fretless on a multiscale.

Thank you all! I appreciate the comments and feedback and I'm thankful to have such an awesome Dingwall group to lean on for info. Everyone has always been super helpful when I had questions in the past and I've learned a lot about these basses. This bass has unmatched versatility and it's exciting to finally have one in my hands!

Yes it's true. I have sinned. Just acquired a Roscoe 6 string as a stand-in until my NG3 6 string arrives. Which could be awhile.
