Dingwall Owners Club

Hello everyone…..My new NG-2 and it's truly amazing

Do you happen to have any sound clips or recordings with that bass? :)
The only recordings I have are of the SJ5XXX during gigs. I have only gigged once with the SPJ5, and it wasn't recorded. I'm not set up to record at home.

That said, it won't sound any different than any other SPJ5 with ash body, maple neck/board, Dingwall nickels, and bridge FDV, which I believe all are being shipped with now.

I'm cooling on the idea of selling, I won't part with it without a non-Fattie SJ5 replacement being available, and so far no dice.

Unfortunately, there are no quality videos/recordings of a SPJ on youtube.

Do you find that the P-tone blends nicely with the FDV?

I do, I also think it has more girth than the FD3, so I left the FDV installed. Evidently Dingwall agrees since that is how the new SPJ5s are being shipped. The FDV is still not usefull solo'd (for me), but neither was the FD3. That's why there is no bridge solo setting in my SJ5xxx.

Interesting!
I put a split P-tone on my SJ, which sounded GREAT, but found that the sound was a bit too "nasal" combined with the super fatty in the bridge position.
It might have to do with the fact that the SF is closer to the bridge and, well, it's a different pickup haha

How easy would it be to wire my ABHS so that the 4th position (bridge only) is swapped with middle only? I never use bridge pickup only on any bass apart from Stingrays...
If your ABHS has s/p switches, and they are solderless, it's just a matter of putting the middle wires where the bridge wires were in the s/p switches and vice versa, if not, someone else has to answer.
