A matching headstock too, but "beggers can't be choosers" this took months to obtain and it was already on order. Now I have a Dingwall in my mitts, a custom order might be do-able thing at some future time??

Not that long ago there was an older Z up in grande prairie that had a fretted and fretless neck for sale. I’m not certain it sold for some reason or another. It was on kijiji and perhaps a way back machine or something could help you track it down.

It does work passive with no batteries when you pull up the volume knob!

Really? I was gonna ask AB Nate to switch combustion necks with me so I could have a dark wood FB, but the white headstock would look whacky on his black combustion. Maybe this would be an option!

Aliexpress? I was ordering a pair or rotaries there last year. 2P4T rotary switch is what you're looking for.
As for the pre, what sound are you looking for? On board pre is basically just an EQ. Check their EQ points and see what frequencies would you like to add/remove in your sound.
Also BTC SYSTEM HZ that's installed in that bass is pretty fun. There's high frequency response selector on it, which allows to set different EQ points for high band (2 shelfs and 2 bells). EQ point at 2.5khz should be somewhat similar to high mid response of tone capsule. I'd recommend playing with all 4 setting first before changing the pre. You may find something that you like actually

I have a 3X rotary switch waiting to go into my Combustion. I got it from Dingwall. $65 I believe.

Sheldon made me ABII and Super P fretless necks aftermarket. Not inexpensive, but amazing!

I almost pulled the trigger on doing one for a SJ I had but the wait was full 18 months which was pretty much the same as my fretless build at the time.

IIRC at that time the price was around $1200 for a basic neck.

Installed the Payson flats this morning. A couple small intonation adjustments still to be made, but I’m super stoked.

Action is super low, and they feel great. I’m sure they’ll take a while to break in and get greasy, meanwhile, they sound great.

Nice thunk, and great clarity of pitch.

If it was a Super PJ, then they already have a P, and don't need a P-tone. So I assume you mean a 2 or 3 rounded pickup Super J.

I did put a P-tone in the [EDIT: I accidentally said bridge before] neck position on a newer combustion. I like it, though I haven't messed with it a lot and need to get the pickups back in proper position to be super sure. I put it in series.
