Should be ebony. Dingwall doesn’t offer any other Fretless options.

Whatever it came with (I wasn't asked for a choice). Having tried the nickels I decided I prefer stainless. At this stage they are so new I can't tell what they are.

(I think I've read they come with nickels currently)

Dingwall would ship factory nickels I would assume. Especially being a Fretless board. For a flat option the Payson flats are pretty rad on Fretless. Perhaps slightly stiff but they break in nicely.


I think @ThisYouCanTrust is referring to the grain in your fretboard looking like speedo bars.

There aren’t many used ones for sale that I can find. I mean, a new Combustion is only $2,200 so it’s not that bad I guess. But I don’t know if another bass would be welcomed in the house right now.

They get posted on Facebook groups and in the Classifieds here pretty regularly. Someone even had a v1 or v2 Combustion 5 on FB for around $1300 the other day.
