D-Rocs? I wouldn't even know how to put a D-Roc in a case with the strap on. Maybe in a gig bag, but not with the thick (and not so maleable) Dingwall strap.
Good tip on lubing the strap locks. I’ve had a couple premature ejections, so I don’t trust them. I make sure it’s seated and give it a good tug to test.
More often, it’s a struggle to get it to release. This might be because of the thick Italia strap.
I used to install a strap and leave it on the bass. Not an option on the Dbird.
And I use the rubber washer on guitars, and have seen the strap pin screws back out over time.
So far, I haven’t dropped one to the floor. The Dbird is going to need its own stand or hanger, it’s not safe in a regular stand.
What are you guys using for Dbird and Drocs?

Presumably this would be a non-issue on 4-string models since they all have the EA on one side and DG on the other across all models.
Man I asked about this and was told by the dealer they won't do it!

P.S the new Levy's Cirro strap in 3" is great. Super comfy and high quality, and it has a pick holder on the front which is helpful for someone like me that uses all kinds of techniques but doesn't want to put a pick holder on their bass to be able to grab one mid song.
It's also got a suede backing and the padding is better imo than the Levy's 4.5", mono betty, couch, and Gruv neo solo straps I have. Plus it looks classy in black with this bass!

For me, passive tone is the key piece missing from the Darkglass TC. One way to add passive tone to a Darkglass preamp without having to add another knob or a stacked knob might be to replace the hi mid pot with this one from Delano. The hi mid control would work from the boost half from center detent while passive tone would work from the cut half from center detent.

That's not hard to do yourself (or have done by a good luthier).
Woah, if someone tries this, please let me know... I'd probably replace the low mid knob (if possible, that listing does say active treble) though, since I don't use that much because of where the freq is centered.

Looking at this further, it probably wouldn’t work because the mid controls are boost/cut. You wouldn’t want to cut the mid -12dB before passive tone kicks in. It’s best if the passive tone has its own independent pot. Bass, hi mid, and passive tone might be a useful 3 knob layout…
The Z3 is the GOAT, imo. It’s the only bass I ever want to play anymore…
Speaking of useful strap features like pick slots, I also just found an “unadvertised feature” on my Gruv Gear John Patitucci strap last gig where it fits a Shure wireless clip perfectly snugly in this here little spot. Glorious perfection. Love this strap.

I know stack knobs are not ideal, but I make these vol/passive tone stacks as a drop in for the NG/Combustions. They work great with both the EMG and DGTC preamps. No new holes and passive tone that works in both active and passive. 4 total wires to disconnect and re-connect. Super easy.
+1000 on the Z being the GOAT instrument I've ever played
And that's cool! I was actually considering the Gruv solo strap 2 (which I think has a similar slot + a pick holder), but it's been out of stock everywhere in black since like October, so when I saw the Levy's Cirro pop up I took a swing despite there being no reviews out there on it (aside from mine on Amazon)
