I guess I was thinking it was .5 diff between each string but it's .75. So we're both wrong, it's 31.25"
@CL400Peavey like that guy that did a 3 pickup with the rotary set to 4 variations of series. Was thinking about that today actually
Anybody playing in D? Fingers, fast and dark sounding? I've been using the dingwall stainless w/.127 gauge B but I am starting to get curious about string options. Most likely stainless is still the way I'll be going but curious what you guys have to say.

Not playing in D, but playing five strings tuned low B and low Bb. Just switched to payson medium stainless steel. I like them way better than stock strings because I play with a heavy touch so the paysons are more forgiving to that and less noisy for me. The bottom 4 strings are tapered so they vibrate less wildly and facilitate a low action-which is my jam
I still stand by what I've said a few times in this thread - the Payson strings are very, very nice overall strings, and the price cannot be beat (buy 4 or 5 sets!). I hope @Blues Cat brings out the Drop-A string out for purchase soon so I can stock up on it.
For the crazy tuning stuff, Kaliums still win out in my book, simply because I can get very specific gauges. But, if you don't need that, then Paysons are absolutely the way to go.

Currently .130T. We sell B singles as well.
We're currently finishing the .170T. The .145T is pretty much done for those looking for drop A. I like the .145T tuned to B as well. It sounds really really good.
Dingwallers have been asking for a true flats set. The version we've prototyped features tapering on the B, E and A for a better break angle over the saddles. We are currently accepting pre orders at a lower price.

I absolutely love Payson strings, they are very musical and well balanced-sounding strings. The Low B (.130) sounds huge!

All this talk about flats on Dingwalls has led me (a recent first time Dingwall Super J/P owner) to wonder:

This may have been answered previously, but can you explain the difference between the reduced core nickel steel strings and the regular nickel steel tapered strings?
