I’m curious if there are any finger ramp players out there in the Stingray Special world?
I usually carve ramps from wood, but I just got a new 3D printer and I’ve been experimenting with designing ramps and 3D printing… just scrap PLA for now, I have some carbon fiber and wood filament that I’ll eventually move up to. So far, my experimentation looks promising. I’ll use Neo magnets on the underside to adhere the ramp to the pickup screws and the ramp is very very lightweight so there won’t be an issue of it staying in place.



Fortunately it’s the same design files whether I route wood on CNC or 3D print them. I think the shape of the ramp should also be shaped like a trapezoid and follow the taper of the strings as well as have the radius. I think I’ll experiment with that tomorrow while I’m finishing up the design for this one to print a final version with better material.
I also plan to do one for my BFR, but that’ll be carved on the CNC with regular flamed maple so it matches the top better.
