Totally agree! Here she is with former husband and still occasional collaborator, the legendary Mike Watt!
Marilena Montarone, great session and touring bassist from Italy. She's also a bass teacher and leader of her own funk/soul band, Marmaduke.
Like them very much, thanks.
Both her bass playing and vocals are very clear and have no "posing". So refreshing!
Voice is exceptionally credible, legit, etc.

Rosana Miho of LoveBites formerly of Destrose. When Destrose broke up she put her vision in motion based on 80's heavy metal and with her former Destrose drummer Haruna formed Lovebites. Point being she is the bandleader. Doesn't take the spotlight but full props to creating the band.

In my world (church music), Jihea Oh is the bassist for Hillsong - one of, if not the biggest in the genre. She’s 5’2” or something, plays a full scale bass (it looks HUGE on her), but none of that deters her from being great.
James Jamerson was a great bassist because he worked at it. Being good at bass has nothing to do with gender. You need some talent, interest, and a whole lot of practice.

Another nod for Alejandra of The Warning. Best thing from Mexico since the food. This video the bass is so gnarly and huge especially when the guitar solos around 3:30. I love that tone she is getting. Makes me want a Spector.

Been following them for several years. I really want to see them live. They were awesome then, and have grown musically a lot.

The amazing Blu DeTiger, total funk monster, DJ’s while playing Bass or the other way around. But she also takes time to show you what she played in tutorial videos for her songs.
