Wow, that's a stunner. My personal thoughts are since it's a masterbuilt Fender, it will probably be the best new production Fender you'll ever play. However, $6k is a lot of bread. If I absolutely had to have a Custom Shop bass, I'd get something like this Fender Vintage Custom 1951 Precision Bass NOS 2019 Butterscotch Custom Shop | Sean's Gear Locker | Reverb and an American Original 60's Strat or maybe a mandolin. But hey, not my money to spend. If you like it, buy it.

Haha yep those custom shop guys sure know what they’re doing, or at least they better for the price we pay for them.

Finally some nicer shots of NBD Sean Hurley P. Relic is very delicate - just some yellowing, checking and patina on hardware and of course, back of the neck. Gentle but exactly the level you feel like right "worn in".
Neck is not so meaty like on Pino, but not flat as some 60' p (think Lakland BG). Extremely comfortable to me. Fretboard was very dried, but that is an easy fix to me. Strung to TI and I now start to consider it as the best CS P I have had. Oh yes, mute - that is a nice plus to me, extra feature, but definitely not the reason why I bought it.

@davidak looks great. How muted is the mute? I always have a bit of a hard time with things like the nordy mute being a bit too much muting for my many mute needs.

Custom Shop 1960 Precision. Heavy relic. Bought it a few months ago.
Got my Jazz Bass in the mail yesterday. I put TI flats on it and set it up, this bass roars! The neck is very enjoyable to play with minimal buzzing. The typical Fender dead spots are there but I don’t mind because that’s to be expected on every Fender instrument. These custom shop pickups are something else. I was recording some demos yesterday with the the TI’s on it and it was cutting through the mix with such a growly low end punch. Will record some sound demos today.
@davidak, the Hurley looks awesome! Congrats. Finish looks like mine (just different color) - light checking and varnish rubbed off the back of the neck. Glad to hear the neck is a better fit for you than the Pino.
@JRB the mute is a great feature even though I don't use it much. For Motown-type stuff, it's perfect. Creates that old-school thump, but you can still hear the notes just fine.

One interesting fact about SH P bass - it has 43mm width at the nut (compared to 44,45mm in official specs). Anyone has the same experience? Mine is from the first batch from 2014, don't know if they changed it later to full 1.75' width..?
If yours was from the first batch, that makes me think it was hand made. Maybe the specs fluctuated a little when they were first building them?
Incoming… gonna put a set of old GHS Precision flats 45-95 on it when it gets to me.
