I'm not talking about the trolls. The fact of the matter is, plenty of folks have asked him polite, reasonable questions--about things like a bridge that doesn't look quite like the original should--and had their heads chewed off in an obnoxious, condescending fashion. These answers have been posted here and on the Fender discussion board (the FDP), I've read them. That's the main reason his auctions get negative attention here and elsewhere.

I don't agree with the trolling, but that started after his behavior became well-known.

He paid 29k for the lefty pictured with it.I think he is Guitar Center Vintage branch in Sherman Oaks.I buy and sell vintage Fenders on ebay and will never deal with this guy.If he answers to anyone they should fire him.Better to ignore the baiters than to taint your business with insults aimed at the everyday bass player.

My quoted comment was about the attention his auctions generally receive (there have been many). And many of the subsequent posts do deal with the seller.

Several people have stated that he is only selling for the going rate. If that's true (and I don't dispute that) then why aren't other dealers being "baited" in the same way. He really does bring it down on his own head. Some of the things I've seen him say make me ashamed to be the same species as him.

Did anyone see what the seller replied to that? This guy seems quite obnoxious. :rollno: Just reading some of those replies to the questions on ebay... he doesn't seem to respect his customers at all. All I'd like to say to him is :spit:

Hi folks!
I followed all of the discussion with great interest and I wondered that nobody recognized, that the wiring of the bridge PU couldn't be original!! At all Fender Jazz basses neck-and bridge-PU are always and forever wired in "humbucking"-mode. Thumb-rule: If you look at the pu coils in their caverns the solder joint of the white, phase leading wire is laying on the "outside", looking towards the head and towards the bridge. The black, ground leading wires from both PUs are "looking" to each other! This thread was beaten down already at http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-50350.html
