Fender Rumble Club

I have a question: there's some black textile sorta tape sticking out at the lower right corner. Does anyone know what it is? And what to do about it? It looks like it wants to be folded back inside, but then I'd have to open the whole thing up, and I don't know how to do that.

If you pull that loop of textile you will find out how to open the thing up :)

Kinda curious about something. I'll try not to ramble. Got a Rumble 500c. No practices till next year so I'm going to take it back from practice space to home. In the meantime, I bought a DJ Controller for wife for xmas - I think she'll like it. Nothing expensive, just something she can play around with. Anyway, so I'm thinking that my Rumble 500c via Aux input should make for a reasonable amp/speaker for her to play with - and maybe if I switch the horn back on it will be not too terribly crushingly BASS. Maybe with some EQ if needed. TBH I'm going to do it anyway, but kinda curious if anyone has done that before? Just in the house so volume will not be an issue. Probaby waay overkill in fact. Plus it will give me some reason to actually turn the horn back on. :)

Why, thank you for remembering, G-Dog! Indeed it has just happened: I now have a Rumble. V3 15c, so it's kind of a Humble Rumble. See pics.

I traded it for pedals I wasn't using. A really good deal, since I'm surely using the Rumble. Just now I played my fiver over it, and small as it is it didn't blink: a low B sounds like a low B. Pure bass goodness, and so portable! As it happens I didn't have the car the day I got it, and I had to carry it several miles across town. Which was no problem.

Other than that triviality my preowned Rumble is certainly in top shape and is game for anything. :hyper:

Pull the tab to release the grill from the hook and loop fasteners.

Hmmm, ... January is one of two times a year when the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] usually presents new models of gear! I say "usually" because The 'Rona canceled this year's Summer NAMM and could do the same in January '21. In fact, if you followed that link, they seem to be currently focused on January 2022?!!

Anyhoos, there could, conceivablly, be another new Rumble, or two, such as when the Stage & Studio were introduced in '18 and the LT25 & 800 HD in '19. Or maybe even a whole revamp of the line as the 7-year-old V1s gave way to the V2s in '10, and when the 4-year-old V2s made way for the V3s in '14. The V3s will be 7-years-old in January '21. Hmmmm ... ...

What new Rumblings would you like to see ... ... ?
.
Bring back the 12 inch bass cabinet. I'd much prefer over the much heavier 2x10. And maybe a smaller 15 inch cab to match the Rumble 200. Yes

I’m gonna say “do it”...to both of you.
Because it will sound good to YOU.
...and post pics of course.
I did it. Have only pulled out the R200 and love it to pieces. So sweet and low compared to the R500 I had before. Seems to have double the sound of my R100 too. Just sat there and banged away on the E and A strings as the air moved passed my leg like the warmth from our fireplace.

YES!!!
Congratulations, my friend!!!
...but I know you're not new to TB, so I know you know the rules:
Pics or it didn't happen!

Well, I went to my local sewing shop and got a bag of synthetic wadding of the kind used to stuff sofa cushions. I carefully unscrewed the speaker from the Rumble 15 cabinet, and stuffed about a third of the contents of the bag into it. After reassembly, I fired up the Rumble, and lo and behold, that terrible boxy sound was gone. A little bass bost, and it sounded quite tight and nice. Of course, it's still a 15 watt combo with an 8" driver, but this improved the sound no end!

Today I did this JakobT mod to my ”new to me” R15c. My wife had some of that cushion wadding at home, so I quickly unscrewed the driver, stuffed the cabinet full of the wadding stuff, put everything back together and yes, the sound improved by a mile. Now it sound like a Rumble should.
Thanks Jakob for the above and thanks G-Dog for collecting all these useful tips in the wiki.

Not sure abou the R15c, but other Rumblers, with bigger Rumbles, have found that filling their combos with acoustic fill was overkill and they had to take some out to "un-muffle" the sound. Just a word of caution about that but, by all means, go for the sound you like.
