Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

Thanks G-Dog. I will change the XLR’s in the settings to Stereo out’s so that I will get 2 x Post EQ outs as you suggest, although I will also see if just a signal from one of the Send sockets will work. I only use the Stage 800 in mono so it shouldn’t be a problem. ... ...

The Stage's speakers can always only output mono, even when using stereo effects. However, those effects are still carried as stereo internally and are presented as two stereo channels to the XLR Line Outs (when set to stereo) no matter what your other settings may be. So, using only one of the stereo XLRs gets only one of the stereo channels and, thus, could be missing something!! Both are needed to get the complete bass signal. :eyebrow:

The two FX Sends are a little more intelligent. If only the Left (mono) FX Send is connected it automatically gives only a summed-stereo mono signal of the two stereo channels. But, when you connect the Right-side FX Send, then they each gets just one side of the two stereo channels!!

A third possibility might be the USB connection, which also contains two stereo channels. But the Stage/Studio manual only talks about connecting this to a computer for recording, so I'm not sure if/how it could be used for your situation.

... ... The band currently uses wireless IEM’s (in stereo), I’m getting the bass signal back from the desk which isn’t too bad, but I know from experience that I can get a better bass tone/sound from my wired LD HPA 1 headphone amp. The LD has Left and Right XLR inputs plus an 1/8” Aux-in socket, I’m hoping that I can use a signal from my Stage 800 to go into the Aux in on my headphone amp and turn off the bass signal from the desk (we use a Behringer X32 and do our own IEM mix on our IPads & IPhones via Wi-Fi).

Will see if I can rig something up in the house to make sure it works!

Is your LD's 1/8" Aux-in stereo or mono? Or perhaps it can use either one? Just be sure which signal(s) you're sending from the Stage amp, whether a single (stereo summed) mono, two separate stereo channels, or only one stereo channel (half signal)!

Good luck! Please let us know how it goes.

Finally got around to taking a photo of my Stage 800 so that I can officially join the Club!

Too late! You were officially inducted into The Club yesterday! But, it's always good to. ... ...

Show us your Rumble(s)!

... ... Also, here is a photo of the amp with its Roqsolid cover. I can’t recommend these covers highly enough. I’ve used them for some years now, they really are very well made covers, very hard wearing and give great protection by the nature of the materials used and the internal padding. As can be seen from the 1st photo the cover is strong enough to stand up on its own!

Lovely looking cover, too! Thanks, Bake!!

I don’t really understand the L and R Stereo channels, I assumed as it is a mono signal it will output exactly the same to both channels? Some of the chorus effects will be in stereo, as may be the reverb/Hall effects but the basic bass input should be mono x 2.

The Aux input on the LD HPA 1 is stereo.

I’ll give it some more thought on the stereo out option.

I got the impression you weren't on my wavelength from your posts, Bake. That's why I've broken it down to (hopefully) clarify. The Stage and Studio are digital stereo amplifiers, although their speakers can only output a mono signal. Even using extension speaker cab(s) with the Stage, it is still only a (summed stereo) mono signal to all the speakers.

But, the internal signals are all in two-channel stereo, as is evidenced by the L & R of the three other output connections, XLR, FX Send, and USB. Now, I could be wrong here, and invite the more technically proficient among us to correct me, but I do believe that a single stereo channel of even an uneffected bass is still just approximately half of the full signal.

PS: At the bottom of the Stage & Studio LINKS section of your Rumble Club Wiki page are several links to more USB Connectivity info than the manual has.

Thanks for the advice, I’m not very technically minded unfortunately!

I wonder if I could just send a signal to the desk using the Post Out XLR socket as normal, and a stereo signal to my LD headphone amp via the Stage 800’s USB socket?

According to @Droopy_TX in this post the USB stereo vs mono (pre & post) settings are the same as the XLR Line Out settings. In that case, no, you can't get stereo from the USB and mono (pre & post) from the XLRs at the same time! I didn’t find anything about this in the manual, but Droop has much more experience in this than I, so I'll believe him.

So, it looks like you need to use the FX Send(s) for one of your destinations, either stereo or mono, and the XLR(s) or USB for the other destination, either mono or stereo (opposite of the FX Send(s)).

Hope this helps.

Great stuff.

I think the best option therefore is to run both Sends into a Y adaptor with an 1/8” stereo Jack (or bespoke cable) into the Aux-in of my headphone amp.

I think I may have the relevant bits to try this out so will let you know if it’s successful.

It's been a minute since I've dropped by the thread. Just wanted to remind everyone that if you're not taking advantage of the Stage's stereo options.. you are missing out on one of this amp's biggest features, and the options are limitless!

Whether daisy chaining to a separate amp(s), using stereo pedals, or pedals that have clean/effect outputs.. play around.. experiment! You're not limited only to the onboard effects!

This is part of my signal chain that I run through my effects loop creating a left/right-clean/wet signal chains. I've got fuzz/wah in one ear of my headphones and clean/overdrive in the other, and can easily split those chains to two amps. The Mimiq Doubler replicates a multi-tracked studio effect live. (I've gotta throw these on a pedal board now that I'm satisfied with the chain)

Hopefully this inspires some curiosity and creativity to dust off those pedals for y'all.

Wish y'all the best.
-Dookie

Hey everyone, does anyone here play electric guitar through their rumble studio 40 or stage 800? Would love some recommendations for getting a good sound for electric guitar through these amps.

(I am a bassist, but own an electric guitar that gets played only once in a blue moon)

I’d suggest starting with the ‘59 Bassman or any of the British amps (‘70s’ (Marshall), ‘Colour’ (Orange), ‘Watts’ (Hi-Watt). Use the 4x12 GB (Celestion Greenback) cabinet emulation. Then add effects (overdrive, chorus, reverb) to taste.

@Chaosanator
I use Studio #3 Filthy Bassman plus fully maxxed "EQ wide" to increase gain and drive or "British colour" with D130.

But I have a different question
Can I have two amps synced with one cell phone?
I have Studio and Stage.

When I have Studio and Fender Tone on phone synced and I change a preset, it's saved on Studio and phone.
Then I disconnect Studio and connect Stage with phone, Stage is sync-master and Fender Tone App is slave, therefore I lose changes made on that preset.
Unfortunately I can't have both amps connected simultaneously. Can I however choose whether I want phone to be master or slave? Can I transfer changes made on one amp to other?

I've never been a fan of Bluetooth until I got my Rumble Studio 40, so my opinions here may not be technically thorough or even correct. First of all, I don’t believe the Bluetooth used here can communicate between more than two devices at a time; just one amp to just one phone, or tablet, at a time. That's one reason Invalid Link Removed. :rollno:

Further, I believe that the 7ender Tone App is just a controller for whichever one amp it is paired with. That it only reads, and manipulates, the settings from that amp and does not carry a saved copy of any other settings on the phone, or tablet, itself.

The app can, however, download presets from the online Tone Community. So, you could upload some specially tweaked presets to the online Community from one amp, then disconnect that amp, connect your other amp, and download those presets to your other amp!

Hope this helps.

Rumblers:

Have you seen these numbers?

Screenshot_20211227-193207_Chrome-01.jpeg

So, what do you think will come first?

1,500 members?

50,000 replies (2,500 pages)?

Ladies and gentlemen! Hurry, hurry, hurry! Step right up! Place your bets for "Members", "Replies/Pages" or "Views" to Win (1st), Place (2nd) or Show (3rd)!

I'll audit The Club treasury then draft a cheque for some really snazzy awards for the first correct guesses in each category, and a super-duper Grand Prize to whoever hits the tri-fecta first!
  1. Only Rumble Club members are eligible for prizes by posting their guesses in the main Rumble Club thread. There is no charge for making your entries.
  2. Only one guess per category, per member, is valid. Your first recorded guesses in each category are your only valid entries. Any subsequent guesses are invalid, so give it your best shot the first time!
  3. As the only currently serving Club Official, I will officiate, referee and, in all other ways, administer this contest/raffle/event. I will also not be eligible for any prize(s).
So, there's the start. But, since it may take some time to determine the order of all three categories reaching the above stated goals, there is no rush at this time. Further details will be determined as we go.

Good luck to all!

I'll try to answer two questions at once.. decent presets for guitar and two devices connected at the same time.

Once upon a time it was SORTA possible to have two devices connected. That's how I was able to put Mustang GT presets onto my stage and vice versa. Fender evidently reads these forums and the closed that exploit. But if you go to 'downloads' in the Tone App, search ShawnM you'll find some of my GT presets that I uploaded for the Rumble. Note that with these presets you can select from all the GT cab sims.

And just an idea, if you've got an old phone or tablet laying around the house, maybe you could use that as a dedicated amp controller.

Enjoy!

Also.. once you've downloaded the presets I've uploaded.. keep in mind that you can duplicate the presets on your Rumble however many times you like and customize them to you hearts content. I've done so so many times that it's hard to keep straight which are rumble models and which are gt. Ya just might wanna download them before fender patches THAT too

Hi Guys, I also posted this in the Main Rumble Club hope that's ok?
Looking through the options on my Rumble LT25 i notice that the presets from 30 to 50 are empty, yet the reviews and manual state that you can replace any of the original 30 with the extra ones, but mine all say EMPTY. SW version is v2.1.4
