Fodera Club Part XXV

Not an excuse, but my experience has been that those gifted enough to play these instruments have spent their training time in a practice room or concert hall. Neither is where you would probably get robbed. Orchestral people, IMO, have less street smarts than most that will read this. If you need help changing a tire, ask a jazz person for help.YMMV

i just thought it was a funny slant on that issue. not trying to make any *big statements*. really, a strad is the very, very high end, but any reasonable fiddle or bassoon can be way up there as well.

Yeah, I hear ya. And for the record, I'll be taking my Custom Monarch to a general purpose local bar tomorrow night, and not thinking twice about it. :)

Definitely looks to be a YYS but Labex has a signature model now - a four string Monarch with a Korina body, Buckeye top and ebony board. Pope pre with an EMG P pickup but a split coil Fralin Jazz at the bridge with a separate buffer to equalize the two volumes. I've never heard it, just saw it listed on the Fodera site. Makes me wonder how much of a tonal difference swapping the EMG for the Fralin makes.

And Or Lubianiker has some chops too. Check out the crazy tremolo sounding slap he does about a minute into this vid.

Yeah, I also saw the signature model, but man, that YYS sounds incredible in his hands, too!

Whilst I'm no fan of the slapping and some of th other playing here I really like the bass and its colour.
Another bolt on singlecut.
