G&L Club Part 7

Just put in an order and deposit at Bass NW for something I saw on rocket music's site! Ordered the K-switch, quarter sawn neck, scraped paint binding, and black burst all rolled into a L-2500 body!

Here's the picture from rocket music. Will match my black burst l-2500 nicely, but with steroids!

There it is, with the #5 pattern above.
Thank you, StrangerDanger, but finally, I did not find #6 handy, you most often have to toggle the two switches together.
Very cheap mod, just the cost of the two switches. The green wires from the MFDs are really short, I had to lengthen them by 3/4 inch. Of course, the black and yellow wires that are folded under the MFDs (and soldered together) are way too short and also need each to be soldered to another 4" or 5" piece of wire.

Any of you guys have L2Ks and adjusted pup height? I've always thought my L2K was trebly, but I recently got a Darkglass B7K pedal and notes played on the high G string are really loud... they always have been on this bass though. My treble is cut to 10 on the pedal and my GK amp.... should I try lowering the pups?

Pup height is important for string to string balance on other basses, so why not the L2K? I think it makes sense to try lowering the treble side. I'd keep track of how many turns so you can undo it!

That's the one i ordered a few years ago. Loved it, but I sold it when i took a break from music. I did order a few n ew ones this summer, though... :)

Ordering blackburst with binding was no problem for you? I was told they don't offer it anymore, but managed to get it anyway after asking nicely a couple of times. You can see the result here: http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=5916

Yeah, I had a problem with the scraped binding, so I changed the color to green burst with the scraped binding. Same bass, just the burst change. They were so adamant about the black burst seeping into the binding that they refused to do it!So I wonder what the big difference between the black burst and green burst painting technique that's so different that they won't attempt the black burst scraped binding? I'll love my new turtle bass, though. Will fit perfectly in a stoner rock band!

I've heard they had problems with the black dye to the extent that they had to throw away some bodies with unacceptable paint creep into the binding. I've seen a couple of blackburst/binding-guitars and basses in their facebook feed this summer though, so they do it from time to time, and did it for me on the MJ-4 I linked above, which was ordered in july this year. :)

Greenburst looks stunning as well, though! I'm sure your bass will look really good!
