Another L-2500 but a CLF in silver with ebony board, glossed neck and vintage frets.

The metal flake finishes can be a bit over the top. But man, oh man, that Pharaoh Gold Firemist on the L-1000 has made me very wanty.

I was just wondering if it was the silver flake like @/\/\3phist0 's L-2500. His is the only one I've ever seen and I can't help drooling over it any time he posts a picture of it - or even just mentions it.

I'm a DIEHARD burst fan, as my small collection proves. But there's something special about G&L's metal flake finishes.

Yes, 19mm at the bridge, a shade less at the pickups.

The flakes are cool but I’m cannot really use those kind of finishes in my work.

My is no rush and waiting for an ash blank to come in

You should order a G&L JB for tonal diversity. Be sure to specify Pharaoh Gold Firemist.

Me too. All of my basses are bursts (three sunbursts plus a honeyburst and a cherryburst) and the ones that have pickguards are all tort. For that matter, four of the five are also strung with flats. Old school!

And yet, for some reason, those metal flakes finishes elevate my heart rate. Can't explain why.
