Do you find the inner coil mode closer tonally to parallel?

As a disclaimer, I sold the bass a little while ago, so I’m going off memory here...

With both pickups on, the outer coils give you some of that jazz bass scoop. Without being able to blend pickup volumes, you’re kind of locked into that tone, which wasn’t my favorite. With the inner coils and both pickups on, it was more of a fat finger style tone, but worked well with a pick, too. I don’t know if I could say it is close to the parallel mode, as I remember the parallel mode to be a little brighter and having a tiny bit of scoop when using both pickups. When I had that particular L-2000, I played in series mostly, then single and parallel probably the least.
