there is an added capacitor on the OMG circuit, if I recall correctly, that adds to the bass boost in series.

Technically, it bleeds highs from only one of the coils, giving an impression of a bass boost. The drawback is that the coils are then not fully humbucking and some people have reported a slight buzz. But it's probably so slight that you'd never notice.

I've been toying with the idea of adding the OMG mode to my Kiloton because I think the highs are a bit zingy and I always end up rolling them off at the amplifier anyway. I'd really like to have the separate high and low knobs like on an L-1000, but I think that would require modding the pickguard or the control cavity or both, and I'm not sure I have the stones for that just yet. So I'll probably go with the circuit that's in the Fallout.

How often have you encountered a G&L bass (or guitar) made long after the series was retired? My Climax apparently was made 2 years after G&L discontinued the model by introducing L-1500.
As far as I know, Climaxes were made until 1996, and the 1997 was the first year of L-1500.

I recently found this G&L club forum and what are the requirements to become a member? I've owned a 1999 G&L SB-2 for close to a couple of years now. It's my only G&L (for now), but hope to add to the collection in the future. It's been modified with the option for stacked volume and tone control. It's a great bass and has killer tone! I'm looking forward to reading (and seeing) all of the others who post here.

Here's my G&L 2016 LB-100. I installed a new tortoise shell pickguard and a new set of D'Addario EXL170 strings this morning!

How do you explain away the 20 pound giant box at the door?

I didn't think I would like the white on white with matching white headstock combo as much as I do but it's awesome. Really stands out in a crowd. Kind of like how good vanilla is really anything but "vanilla" in the bland sense.

I had my wife stare at that pic of beautiful lefty basses and asked her, "Okay, can you tell what makes these basses look different from my basses?" She stared for 30 seconds and said, "Um...the shape?" In all fairness, she is a vocalist and a pianist. She never thinks of lefty microphones or lefty pianos.
