I'm looking forward to it!

Maybe the Uber-Mako (Uber-Maxo) 900?![]()
Yes, I want an Uber-Mako 900!!! Will this be on display at summer NAMM?
+1. I love the Shuttle's sound but am steering clear of the Streamliner. Based on what I've read it seems like the Streamliner won't have the hi-fi clarity that the Shuttle amps have.
Well, I read earlier in this thread that if you don't push the gain too hard, you can get a nice clean sound. This was coming from the GB crew.
This discussion is a bit funny. Why would a company introduce another amp line that sounds like their current amp line.
Again, in another 5-10 days, we will know![]()
For those of you who'll be reviewing the initial batch of these, please try, if at all humanly possible, to find a buddy and do some blind comparisons. The hype has been so great that it may well be an impediment to any kind of objective evaluation. Don't get me wrong, I truly hope it'll accomplish all its' stated goals, but wow-Streamliners ain't even shipped yet and cancer patients the world over are banking on them as a cure, LOL.

From my brief experience with the Streamliner, I will say that it very definitely can get a great clean hifi sound if you keep the gain control low - even in high gain mode with a passive bass. There is enough headroom on the channel volume to bring up a clean, low gain setting to gig levels. The tone is very sweet, it has the high end for sure, but it's got a nice soft cushion happening underneath - not murky. It doesn't sound like the Shuttle, it's bigger and rounder on the bottom, and kind of syrupy on top. The mids can be very subtle if you want, but even when pushing them past 3 o'clock, they don't sound harsh or unmusical. I've said this already, but it's like having a studio tube preamp. Yeah, it colors the sound, but in a way that's hard not to love.
The best way to explain it is: This amp has a spit personality.

fair enough. I can definetly leave room for semantics and interpretation.
I'm very tempted but...
A TB'er mentioned that his Shuttle 9 would get lost in a loud rock mix sometimes... Anybody experience this? Would the streamliner cut through better?
