Ed, this amp really interests me, so I'm eagerly awaiting your review. I know this may not be possible, but I would love to hear you address the power issue - some people feel that the shuttles don't actually put out the stated wattage. I would love to hear what you think in practical terms, compared to similarly spec'd amps from other companies.

It's a big sound, very cushy. I think out of my two basses, I liked the gut strings through it the best - I have Realist pickups on both basses, but the extra bottom really brought out the best in my plywood. This amp would certainly compete with a psycho-billy guitarist cranking a Gretsch through a Bassman.

This all sounds very promising.

I have one question. I am thinking about the streamliner as an alternative to the mesa m6.

Does it give a lot of punch or is it more mellow like a 7ender Bassman?

I am looking for a solution for hard rock and soul alike.

Will let you know about that...
Mine should be arriving this week. I have some good shows to use it on and break it in on... I will be using the Uber 1288T cabs. .Its Super bowl week here in N Texas... Event gigs on everywhere...

I wish i could change my username on TB... I have not played Svt's or B15's in 5 years...:smug::)

You can. Just contact the mods and they'll let you know how you can do it. There's been many that change their names.

Thanks, the only reason I ask is the perceived difference in tone between the Shuttle 6.0 and 9.0, of which I've had both and thoroughly enjoyed, especially the 9.0, regret letting it go every day. If this amp sounds/feels like a lighter more powerful Walkabout with a bit more bottom and a bit less mids I'm in now.

So besides the output what is the (if any) between the Streamliner 900 and 600? Will they sound the same tonally with one just having more oomph?

besides what everyone else just said (wattage difference), the metal casings are a different color, not that most would care. I actually liked the darker gray of the 600 quite a bit more than the silver of the 900 when I was playing with them at NAMM. its obviously just a tiny cosmetic difference, and completely subjective. and not that big of a deal. ;)

Are you saying the 600 color scheme is more oomphy?

Ok but is the Streamliner 600 oomphier than the Shuttle 6.0?

we went to great measures in an effort to create what we think are the loudest, biggest and punchiest sounding amps in their "wattage class" with the Streamliner series.

With that in mind, I feel the 600 IS louder than the 6.0.
