That BAe 146 was a fine craft.
I can believe it. His takeoff was beautiful. The thing headed for the sky like a homesick angel.
I'll never forget seeing a 747 with the space shuttle mounted on it's back fly over my place.

Like this? Out my former office window, Shuttle Discovery on final approach to it's final resting place at the Smithsonian/Udvar Hazy Air and Space museum at Dulles Airport (IAD).
Inside of the carbo area of the Antonov 225 cargo jet.
When the program was first getting started they flew the thing around several cities, and I got to see it from my then-house. I also got to see it on the day @ahc 's pic was taken, also from my office window. My photos of it that day aren't as good; the plane was too far away from my building.

Where in Iowa?
I got to see an AN 225 twice. Once flying (low) over my car as I was leaving work for the day (best part of the day
) and another time on the ramp at Huntsville airport. It was probably transporting rocket parts for the Marshall Space Flight Center. I also got to see the Airbus A380 on it's maiden flight into Dulles. Unfortunately no pics for either of those.

Hmm. Didn't know that. Only recently discovered it as a place to see a lotta trains and towboats go by.

When I worked for FedEx I got to jump seat on a few pretty big cargo planes, MD-11s and L-1011s, many of which had a couple of rows of seats behind the cabin. On my flight from Oakland to Hawaii it was just the two pilots and me, I got to sit up front coming into Diamond Head, and there was a futon in the back to crash on. Good times.
