We did that from the back of the house to about the middle of the front yard (where we found the blockage).



I've owned both Ampeg and Gallien-Krueger; my vote goes to GK.

Some of them may be fine. The school had a little 1-12 combo for awhile that was great. Don't know what happened to it. There is a GK combo at the school - RB700 head in a 2x10 cab. I don't care for the sound. It has plenty of bottom but the sound is dull. Don't know if it's the head or the speakers. Yes, I've fiddled with all of the controls many times. Too many knobs.

One time I was in Atlanta airport and saw these twins walking next to me. I said are you Kim and Kelley (Deal sisters)? They laughed and said yeah we are. I can't find the selfie with them. Another time I was in the first row of Priority seats coming from Dallas and the whole 1st class was long hairs having a big time. I said you guys are a band, who are you? They said we're Kansas, man! I can't find that pic either. Dammit.

I don’t have the pics but it was the 70’s. I rode in a VW van with Alice Cooper and watched him puke. This story is getting old. When you’re in Alaska you don’t get a lot of celebrity traffic. Oh and Charlie Sheen bought me breakfast.

I toured the Nautilus in Groton the other year.

My ship did ASW (anti-submarine warfare) exercises with the Nautilus. I pretended to blow her up with a couple of practice ASROC (anti-submarine rocket) shots. The missile boats are the biggest. I volunteered for sub duty but failed the physical. (Height and eyesight)

I'm kind of torn. There are rumors around town about people getting together for the 4th and playing some music. I've been chomping at the bits to get back in there since I haven't played since last 4th. Here's my dilemma: I have been a die hard Gallien Krueger man for a good number of years. I love the tone and sound. But RAG came out with a couple new models called the Legacy series. They are based off the old RB series except with modern electronics, higher power and less weight. I want one, don't know if I want just the head or the combo. I talked to Jason at GK and he said for the couple hundred more the combo was a better deal.

So what happens next? Yamaha/Ampeg came out with a brand new line of combos that look fantastic. They are half the weight of the old BA series combos more powerful, and with great new features like the overdrive Scrambler built in. Plus they're really priced to sell. I don't even need a new amp head or combo, but if nothing else I want to move ahead with the new GK Legacy head or combo. I think because I might do the Big R next year Carey might say yes to the GK Legacy head. And I would tend to agree with her because I have 3 pretty powerful speakers already. But dang the new Ampeg Rocket Bass looks good. And it was created by Yamaha. I suspect in the end GK will win out and I'll get the head because I'm an old dog who doesn't like new tricks and I like what I like. Here's the lineup:

The more I think about it, the more the GK head makes the most sense. I already have a DNA DNS 112 with a 400 watt driver in it and that would make a nice pretty portable little monster. So GOF's is my reasoning sound?

I don’t know how shipping is to Alaska, but I would choose, whatever I knew I could get, and play through before July 4th. JMHO

The guy who ran Sears and K-Mart into the ground did it for the assets, primarily the real estate. He didn't give a cwap the retail business. The last sentence in the Wikipedia listing for his career pretty much sums him up:

"In January 2019, a group of Sears' creditors hoping to persuade a federal judge to force Sears to liquidate alleged that [Eddie] Lampert had orchestrated a "multiyear and multifaceted scheme" to strip away the company's assets and benefit from its decline."

The same thing happened to Montgomery Ward. One of the first things they did, was do away with their catalog. They almost instantly lost all market share. And went bankrupt a few years later.

You have to be able to do pretty much all the jobs on a sub to get assigned to one, don't you? That's what I heard a long time ago. I have no military experience and was not stating a fact with my first sentence. Educate me on the subject.

Once you're stationed on a sub with whatever your "rate" is, there is a LOT of cross-training. Even on surface ships everyone gets damage control and firefighting training.

Probably the cabinet. I had a couple of 700RB heads (along with a couple of combo amps over the years - 200MB, and MB150S) that I ran through a pair of EV B-210 cabinets, usually stacked vertically, that had all the full range tone I could want.

Sometimes, mason/concrete contractors can break drain pipes, too! The one who did our new driveway broke the water runoff drain that runs under the street curb right at our driveway apron during the demolition of the old driveway a month ago. The city inspector told Gilbert he had to repair it along with the damaged asphalt of the street at the same time. Gilbert blew them both off so I had to call the city and they came out to make the repairs.

The city keeps narrowing vehicle roads to put in lanes for bicycle paths. They had to redo a stretch of road.

There was a guy working late one day with an excavator with a hydraulic concrete breaker on the end of the arm. I was walking by and the sound was way louder than I thought it should be. It was an ear piercing hollow explosive sound. I said, this isn’t going to end well. It turned out that he not only broke up the concrete but the percussive force broke huge sewer conduits and the ceiling of the subway station that ran below. The damage extended for the length of a short block. It was a major repair, the road and subway station had to be closed for about a year. Major detours were required.

It was more of an oops moment. I never heard of anything happening to the contractor.

The cost of all the Warmouth bits, plus the electronics, plus the reliable somebody to put the electronics in working order, means to me I'm better off buying ready-made.

I continue to be nagged by the desire for an Epi EB-0. Would that NewGibson come through with an a real sidewinder (but no choke).
