GK 112-II NEO

I will admit I did not like this cab for the first 25-30 hours I played it. Very harsh sounding. I had been planning on selling it but one day it just mellowed. Now I want another.

Yes, mine has mellowed as well. The first time I plugged it in with a GK MB500, it was definitely harsh for my tastes. Amp choice certainly has an effect on it as well. Warmer amps like the Mesa Walkabout and Genz Benz Streamliner sound really nice through them.

I use mine with a STL900. Nice warm, punchy sound.

As far as harshness, that's the only negative of this cab. IMO due to the tweeter/crossover. But I'm not much of a tweeter guy so I just turn it down to about 8-9 o'clock and problem solved!

The drivers go to ~5khz, so, depending what you like, you can just turn the horns off.
In fact, if you want grit/grind from an MB head, that might be best...

I run my MBFusion more towards the clean side, and leave the horns set at about 25% on.
With the 1001, I run them at maybe 50% on.

I see no flaw with that plan, other than "why bother with the 200?"
Unless you need two amps for two different places, the 500 is not a big heavy amp...

ymmv on that.

I swear that I'm 50 going on 12. My "buy a second 112 in a few month" plan turned into "I WANT IT NOW BUY BUY BUY!!!". The second gets delivered Monday; the first arrived yesterday, I'm hoping I can test it later today.

LOL! I hear ya! It's really amazing what you can cover with two of those little cabs.
