Savofenno, you are member 79. I bet you wish you still had those old Hofners.

My purchase had to be delayed to middle of August. You`re kind to give me number already, but it would have been happier if i had photos to show at first.:bawl:
But around 20th August i will have pics to show, even if it`s Icon model.
I can sell it later, if Contemporary shows to be clearly better, but i can as well keep both. I get a Contemporary too as soon as possible, if in 2 months or so.
All this, because i bought a Tele-Bration Old Growth Telecaster a month ago, it was not cheap.:D
I won`t have more than one loan for a guitar going, i buy other guitars and basses in cash only.

I would like some info , theres a guy 2 doors down selling one , and Im thinking of getting it since its real cheap and maybe re-selling it or just hanging it on the wall, im more of an Ibanez guy and a 5 string player at that.

But if I get the serial number and all that could you guys help to tell me if its worth the price he's asking? if so pm me, thanx

The CT versions of the 500/5 just went on sale on eBay.

Here is what it looks like.

I would LOVE to have one of these, but I really cannot justify it right now. I play my Hofner Icon violin and Club basses regularly, and they do the job perfectly. If I can unload some gear and basses I never play, one of these might make it into the collection.

NICE!

I had one of these for two days last week. It was very nice. Lovely sound. Comfortable neck. Even sounded nice un-plugged. The reason I returned it is that I couldn't see around it to the fretboard when playing standing up cause the thing is so deep. Maybe that's why Stuart Sutcliffe never got any better, although he didn't have my added girth (midriff). As I traded it in for a new CT Club, may I join?

The first 2 images are of what I think are a '73 President, I'm not sure though and don't know how to go about checking. It is very worn and very old, it doesn't have the original pots on it at the moment as they were getting stiff but I still have them. It's cracked on the wood, the binding at the back of the neck has chipped off (the whole thing is bound really nicely everywhere else). The headstock still has the inlay though and to be honest it's a dream. It was my first bass and it was given to me in '05 and I wouldn't give it up. It was well played by whoever had it before and I've played it a lot too.

The second one is my violin bass. I love it, it's lighweight, easy neck to play on, everything about it is fantastic.
