Honesty is key - Craigslist ad

Gosh, you put some work into your presentation here, nice! That one girl, she's 22? Gravity has its nasty hooks in her right now, interesting to see her at even 30. Nirvana cover band, 'make it big', really? Playing Nirvana covers? Come on..it hasn't been done in the last 25 years now, its not going to be done in the next 25. I give the older gal props, while her friends are at the bingo parlor and in bed by 8:45PM, shes out in the the garage tearin it up on the short scale. Give that 36yr old girl a DEAL! Why, because she's "Beautiful"! Of course! That one guy breathing fire? I think he needs to talk to Jack Russell of Great White, which he probably already knows. Jack will let him know that the whole 'fire' thing didn't go over too well at the Station Night Club. The EDM guy, he really doesn't say what he does. Does he play an instrument or perhaps just let the laptop run on auto-pilot with Serrato doing its thing? The common denomiator here to all this non-sense (besides Craigslist) is, what I believe to be 'Los Angeles'.
Not all of those are “LA”; the Inland Empire(San Bernardino/Riverside, etc)is more like the midwest(which I know a little something about)and just as dumb. Oh, and LV dissing LA? Yeah, right...

Oh so right! I had forgot about the whole 'Freemont Street' thing over here. I don't ever go to California, don't know the geography. I just saw the whole 'Los Angeles' main location on all of them.

I answered a similar ad in the paper (yes, an actual newspaper)years ago. This was back when pagers were a thing, so I called and left a voice message (fancy, right)? The guy called me back and we ended up getting together and jamming. The guy really didn’t have any particular band direction in mind, just wanted to get together with other musicians and play, no expectations of greatness, no ego, just playing and having fun. I ended up playing guitar and writing songs with that guy and another guitarist and drummer for several years, we played a few bar gigs, and had a great time. Finally decided to call it quits when pretty much everybodies life/work circumstances changed. It was truly a fun time, and we still stay in touch via the web.

sometimes taking a half-assed approach to things can work out fine.

So basically The Ramones?

I agree with the first part of your response, it sounds like a fun time, but Johnny Ramone was notoriously a dickhead. He would actually fine other members $20 for each time they messed up during a show. He also stole Joey’s girlfriend, moved in with her and kept it a secret from him. When he would get dropped off at home he had them drop him off at his old place even though he didn’t live there anymore just so no one would find out he and Linda moved in together.

Sorry for the side track, just finally found something on this site I’m knowledgeable about lol.

Haha, that's actually 2 of you who got me on the Ramones! My point is they were fun. I never moved in with Johnny but their library exudes fun and lightheartedness like very few other bands. My point is some rando living in the water (according to the map location, maybe Sponge Bob?) saying he wants to have a screw off garage band with no drama is probably a party on wheels (or a kidnapper). So there's at least a pretty good chance he'll end up with a band a lot of us would want to see. Lots of good stuff comes from the garage.

Haha sorry I didn’t read other comments after I saw yours. I had my “ah! I know this” moment. But, yes, I agree it all sounds fun and lighthearted.

Ok, you are going to practice in the middle of a lake! My grandson loves to set my truck’s navigation to the middle of a lake near my home just to hear how “Shenequa” (my navigation’s name....long story) guides us to our next destination!!!
Oh yeah!! Go for it!!!!

Bass player for garage band

I’m a half ass bass player with half ass equipment, looking for other half ass player to create some half ass music. I’ve played in pretty good bar bands. I’ve played in really good garage bands. I’m not looking for the drama or the egos that come with playing out. I just wanna have some fun
If, by chance, it is a real ad, run run run away:). Desperate and agitated by the sound of it, both of which are a turn off. Also, this screams "come play terrible music with me" in a garage. I can't stand the big egos out there either, just got to find the right crew that makes it fun and everyone's voice is valuable, makes it so fun and easy going:thumbsup:
