Honesty is key - Craigslist ad

We all have different definitions of fun. To me fun is playing with top shelf musicians who know the music and put out a tight, professional project. To some fun is getting drunk and doing more talking and drinking than playing. Nothing wrong with either, just make sure you’re with like minded people.
And there you have it. Sounds like truth in advertising, something you don’t typically see on CL.

Bass player for garage band

I’m a half ass bass player with half ass equipment, looking for other half ass player to create some half ass music. I’ve played in pretty good bar bands. I’ve played in really good garage bands. I’m not looking for the drama or the egos that come with playing out. I just wanna have some fun

I am in a similar situation, except I have pro equipment and pro skills, but I am disillusioned about bar gigs, the money is worse than minimum wage, the hours are bad, the bars are filthy, the drunks want to hear freebird, and I hate wearing masks for long periods of time ... So a garage / basement band that plays summer parties, does recordings, and makes videos would be my dream band in 2021.

Really? First thing that comes to my mind is that band will be awesome. Fun minus drama, garage band. So basically The Ramones?

Actually, The Ramones were chock full of drama. It began when Johnny stole Joey's girlfriend. For most of the life of the band, Joey and Johnny rarely spoke. Plus, by all accounts, Johnny was extremely difficult to deal with.

I'd respond to an ad like that. At least a phone call and investigate a little deeper. Lord knows all the ultra serious "must have pro gear, we have plans to tour and major label interest" ads turned out to be the complete opposite of what was advertised. Maybe this is the same.
At the least it's a low-ego dude looking to make music fun.

Been there for 13 years with my current group. When you find it, don't let it go!

It's better to have a friend with a boat than have a boat, in any case.

Absolutely although here in southwest florida you have to have something. I opt for no motor maintenance and no carbon footprint

I would absolutely answer that ad, and I laugh at those who are too good for it - are you jobbers when you're not in a band?

Here's mine, for another laugh:
