I actually dig that for what it is.

Wow, so many nice looking instruments are being posted in this thread. Is my taste really that bad? Antiguas are beautiful when done right.
For me, TV yellow takes the cake. It's just so nasty!
Also, any Fender with chrome covers, or any neck through with the center part visible.

Not to get all defensive about my beloved Dan Armstrong, but there is a WIDE variety of sounds that it can make. And yes, "trying to talk with a sock stuffed in it's mouth" is certainly one of them!

As a owner of many Warwick's over the years and the current owner of a Warwick, I can say they've done great job of creating some of the ugliest finishes I've ever seen in recent years. All this rust crap is just horrid looking. Hans Pee Pee Wilfer has pretty bad taste a lot of the time. He should stick to what made his basses what they are.
While I agree that it's ugly, I also think it's badass in a metal sort of way.
That commercial grossed me out so much as a kid, it's probably the main reason I never smoked...
One thing's for sure, this is NOT the thread for those who are easily offended by others' dislike of their aesthetic choices.
TV yellow looks great on an LP Jr or Special, but that's it. I love sunburst/tort/rw. I tend to dislike purple instruments. That's about it. Surf/seafoam green with tort/rw is one of my favorites.

At the risk of subject drift or getting into a debate about how much makeup men actually wore in the 80s - I'd at least like to point out that they did all this without Autotune, at least. So there's that.
I did see them live once with Howard Jones and Culture Club, in the 90s I believe. Quite a show even if they were all a little pudgy by then.

Cherry-burst is about a ugly as they come. I don't think I've ever seen a single cherry-burst that I liked; meanwhile, I've seen an Antigua or two I didn't hate. For the most part, I don't like golds, ambers, oranges, and yellows. Sometimes they can get a pass if it's a solid or metallic variant, but if it's a stain, I'm gonna have to go ahead and set it on fire. I theoretically could be talked into matte black, but I've yet to see an example that didn't make just want a gloss, or non-black finish.
