I finally got it - MY HOLY GRAIL!

I just stumbled across this thread for the first time - what strikes me most isn't just the perfect wear on this bass (road-weary in all the right places yet very clean in all the other right places - see headstock logo), but the ability of this instrument to make the player inspired to go to new places.
It's true that a great musician can make a coconut sound like nothing you've heard before, but sometimes a bass with history that still shines will bring out things you've never thought about. Gear ain't everything, but sometimes it's inspiring. Congrats, Lublin.

Wow Congrats guy you were lucky to get such an awesome bass! 70 or not you would need a pry bar to get that one from my cold dead fingers!
Slab of rosewood versus a veneer. If you look closely at the heel of a neck the 1960-62 had a straight maple cut to the neck and a "slab" of rosewood flat on the underside and curved on the top side to provide the radius of the neck.
Post Oct 1962 (ish) the slab was replaced by a 4-5 mm veneer of rosewood.

No reason to hate, and yes this bass is naturally worn not reliced and besides who cares what you and anyone else thinks about the MOJO it is what it is...

Maybe I read it wrong, but it sounds to me like georgestrings was pointing out that JellinWellen's statement about old wood and nitro was ridiculous.

Is the marking in front of the bridge, behind the pickups, from the original player's palm, from pick playing, or is from a thumb resting on the pick guard?

Nice bass! I have a '61, all original electronics and the rest of the hardware as well, but refinned. ...also strung with LaBella flats. Plays great and sounds amazing, and is 8 lbs dripping wet. Don't let anybody discourage you. As long as you can deal with a C-neck, these are beauties. As nice as the new ones and those gorgeous reissues are, I haven't found one yet that sounds quite like mine, especially in a studio setting. Enjoy!
