It's priced outside of Ibanez's typical audience....
Again, it's the second least expensive micro head. (IMO, the price of the GK doesn't count. They dropped their price due to major reliability issues) From what I can gather without taking it apart, its has good build quality. It has a nice eq section (I'm biased. I like graphic eq's over parametric) and it sounds great. I've had three Ibanez guitars, and three Ibanez basses. I think that qualifies me as the "typical Ibanez audience". I think it's a good price. How is it not priced accordingly?
......and doesn't stand up against the quality microheads that are only marginally more pricey IMHO.
I've played the Genz-Benz 3.0 and a few of the Mark Bass heads. The Promethean is in the same league as the Mark Bass heads, IMO. I haven't played a 6.0, so I can't comment, but I personally think the Promethean sounds better than the 3.0. I don't understand why you think the Promethean "doesn't stand up to the other micro heads".
They have a whole line of products that have world renowned respect in the studio
Of course they do. That's their market. Marshall has a whole line of world renowned guitar amps. I wouldn't dare buy their bass amps just based on their reputation as a guitar amp manufacturer.
I respect your opinion. But honestly, the price of the rh450 isn't the result of just a company's name in this case. The rh450 simply oozes quality and sturdiness, much more so than any micro head I've touched.
I respect your opinion as well. And I'm not doubting that the TC is a good unit. But presets, a tuner, a pretty box, and knobs with a fantastic feel aren't going to convince me that it's double as good as the Promethean, or worthy of a high price tag. I care about the sound quality over an amps features. In DKB's youtube video, I think the Promethean and the TC sounded very comparable to one another. Again, just my opinion.
I tell you what..........assuming the general consensus finds the MARK BASS F1 to be worth $800, then I think we can all agree that the TC is worth an extra $200 due to it's additional features. Fair? Then by that rationale, the Promethean is a SMOKIN deal. I'll leave it at that.
