Is Wearing Sunglasses On Stage Douchey?

You answered it for yourself. You said you did it to look douchey. If somebody told you that you looked badass fine but self description of yourself looking badass is also douchey. You asked.
I'm not judging anybody, especially as far as fashion goes. I was merely trying to add some light hearted humor to the situation while adding a bit of first hand experience to the conversation. Like it or not people clown on people who wear sunglasses indoors.
As I explained in a previous post I used to work with a singer who did. We heard a lot about it. some people talked about it behind his back, some people said it to his face. One band that followed us went as far as to make fun of him in between songs.
As I stated before, I thought that wearing the shades was a bad idea and I told him so. He just didn't come around to my way of thinking until five shows later. I didn't forbid him from wearing them. I let him do what he wanted.
The fact that you don't wear shades on stage, yet seem to be the only one who is so butt hurt by my posts says a lot more about you than it does about me.
no matter how you feel about wearing shades onstage, it's never as douchey as a band making fun of another band on the bill,especially while onstage! king douchery right there.
Yeah man... It was severely uncool. It was a bit of a mixed bill and we as a hard rock band got thrown on a bill with some full on metal bands. The band that made the wisecracks was actually a band that I played shows with when I was in a metal band, and frankly I'd expect nothing less from those guys. Always a lot of trash talking in that scene.
I wasn't butt hurt til now that you called me out for being butt hurt.
New question for the minions...what's more douchey, wearing sunglasses on stage or using the term "butt hurt"?
What if the guy's onstage with sunglasses and uses the term "butt hurt" and the guy's name is Ditka?

Yeah, very un-cool to rip on the other band, particularly from the stage. Was in a group once where the singer literally said, "we are X - don't worry, we won't suck nearly as bad as Y just did." I wanted to just melt onto the floor and slide away.
I guess if you wory your sunglasses look douche and you don't need them, don't do it. If you think they look ok or better, do what you want.
What's the problem with a clip on tuner - just clip so it is on backside of headstock. And turn it off before playing on
Well, when I'm perplexed by life's major conundrums like this, I just remember what my wise old great great grandmother once said to me when I was just a young-un ... She said, honey child, one day someone's gonna come up to you and ask, "is it douchey to wear sunglasses on stage at night", and when they do, you look them straight in the eye and ask them, "What Would Billy Gibbons Do?" And I think we all know the answer to that ...
Yup. If you get up there and kick ass with your kickass band, then no one is going to care. I mean christ, Hendrix wore ladies' blouses, flea would dye his hair blue and play naked. They didn't give a **** what you think.
... if you can see their eyes, what with having your sunglasses on indoors. Anyway, yeah, look them straight in the eye, and they won't know that you're looking them straight in the eye, because they won't be able to see your eyes, so... OK so this advice isn't working out so well.

Sunglasses on an indoor stage is no more douchy than wearing a too-small ironic tshirt or skinny jeans.
How small is too small? Depends on the size of your gut I suppose.
I would rather see that than 'The American', where it's khaki shorts (creeping up on the inside leg), shapeless T-shirt (smock?), goatee and baseball cap.
