It also appears that her attorney is far more interested in generating billable hours than in advising her as to the most effective method of seeking redress.

Its also possible that her lawyer simply doesn't understand what a blog is, either. Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, and all that stuff.

What a shame - there's a risk here of legacy tarnishment, where younger players and the less curious won't remember her as being a trailblazing pioneer who knocked down a lot of barriers for women in the recording industry through ability and sheer force of personality...But instead seeing only a thumbnail of some irrational harridan shaking her fist at the clouds.

Okay, so she saw my post earlier in this thread where I joked about downloading her book. So she figured that I'm one of the pirates I guess. I tried apologizing through email, but she wasn't interested to say the least. So she didn't delete my account completely without reason, I guess she thought I was trying to dupe her or something.

I get the people defending this, she's a great player. But being a polite individual is a completely separate area of life from being a great player. I've run into enough people at gigs to know that by now.

Not even banned. According to her site if you're banned you receive notification etc. She completely deleted me from the board, so it says that I was never registered. She responded to my post on the board, but I couldn't read it since I was deleted from the users, so I have no idea what she said.

I wish she was a bit more civil about it. After she hurled some insults at me, for playing metal, and saying that I was too stupid to learn anything (some teacher), and some other stuff like calling me a liar. I sent an email apologizing for my joke on here, and expressed that I was honestly trying to help her and inform her, but received no further response from her.

Her responses were incredibly ugly and hate filled. I was trying to help her out because I admire the work she's done. But she seriously needs to grow up, I've never interacted with someone so defensive and aggressive, and I don't wish to again.

Yeah, if she's read this thread and still hasn't issued official apologies to the people she has wrongly accussed and publicly slandered then she truely and honestly must either be a total moron or simply to pigheaded to admit to such an ignorant mistake. In either case she is most certainly destroying her reputation and legacy. Heck, look at how little respect she has left on the one forum that will generally stick up for her!

I guess she wants to be remembered as the crazy old lady who kills the messenger and orders the tide not to rise.

If someone were to flip out on me like that, when I was trying to make a positive contribution, I don't care how important she was forty years ago-- she's not going to be my hero anymore.

The other question that's starting to appear in my strange little mind is, if she's claimed to have played on this or that session even in light of conclusive documentation that someone else (e.g. Manzarek, Krieger, and Densmore all saying it was Knechtel)... I can't help but start wondering what else she didn't actually play on, her claims notwithstanding?

what bob babbitt says in his article would tend to substantiate carole kaye...bob lists several sessions where he was called in to re do someones line,and even though bob's was used,the other guy got the credit..

.it is/was not uncommon for sessions to be recorded more than once.....and the same players are not always in attendance....sometimes the original sessions are used sometimes the second or third rounds,and often combinations...

..i'm not sure why it's such a stretch to believe that more than one version of a song or album is recorded and decisions as to which ones are ultimately used made later.....far better to malign the career of a talented and well known player based on rumor and innuendo

She seems to suffer from a quite obtrusive disorder forcing her to annoy the whole world with her livetime achievements, credits and claims of sessions she played on, lines she wrote .....

She should just lighten up a bit and groove...

And IMHO I find her playing utterly uninspiring. This is my very personal opinion. But seriously take a listen here at her Bass Solo:
