I use mine towards the end, before a DI (currently a Broughton Messenger Jr.) and find it adds a little "something" can't say what. I usually like it to an always on clean boost with the volume around noon and gain set low usually between 1 and 3, so leave all the clippings, although sometimes I have the top one as that one doesn't distort much with the gain turned low. Like i said, I like mine feeding into the Scorpion, though I'm curious what it sounds like with the Scorpion first.

It sounds better the MBD going into it imo. Though I use the jive at the end of the chain as an always on pedal with gain about 12-30 o'clock and no switches on. The MBD sounds better doing it's thing to the lows before to me. A great combination anyhow!

Would say if you want to use it as a boost it would maybe be good to have it before so you can boost the MBD into distortion similar to how the new MBD does. If you have a lowish gain sound on the MBD-2 though.

I'll definitely try both ways. I have MBD-2 at a medium-ish dirt level, but I'm still playing around with it a bit. It's a fantastic pedal for sure! I might use Jive after MBD, especially if I go 12V or 18V for higher headroom, to boost the overall signal volume and get some slight extra character. Or I'll use it as a slightly dirty boost into the MDB-2 (maybe at 9V) like you said. Both options are open right now :) I had a Barbershop which was great as a slightly dirty boost at 9V, but I'm currently building my pedalboard low row with top jack pedals. I liked what I heard from Jive (both dirty and less dirty tones), and the price was nice, so I feel like it can easily do what I had my Barbershop do.

You will 100% love the Jive I'm sure either way. I supplied mine with 18v since I got it (2019 I think) and had no problems.

I also coincidentally run a sushi box space heater on 12v with the same power supply which is a tone city 10 input power supply. Had that for years using it to the max with no issues whatsoever too. Decent cheap power supply.

I haven't a chance to use it at a gig. Our band was touring during summer. I got the JIVE at the end of summer so I just tried it at home. I am still thinking how will I use it. I tend to use it as a standalone I think...but will see...

I've got several new dirt pedals recently (Scorpion, Jive) and I expect one more (MBD). Once MBD arrives, there will be period of testing at home. After that, I will need to decide which dirt pedals will end up on my pedalboard before our next concert in mid December.

I will be looking forward to hear/read about your experience with Jive...

that's how I feel about my Roscoe… there's this.. you know when you're sick and you have a good wet cough and it feels great? That's the sound

I have noticed that with some settings, the low notes on the B string sound different from the other strings (the sound becomes farty/more overdriven than on the other strings).

This happens when I am using the Jive with no switches engaged. It does not happen when I engage the first switch.

I am using mild/moderate saturation.

Anybody has similar experience?

Yeah, I find the Jive into Scorpion is a nice like amp pushing an OD sound and it enhances each of the pedals, but the other way around it gets muddy and not so nice IMO.

Also, I'm between 5'ers, but when I had my last one, I didn't notice any issues. That said, the Jive does has some bottom end loss IMO.
