Really cool!

Adam has one of mine (Tabby).....he is a GREAT guy!

I love his technique......will have to check Alan's Cafe the next time I am there....i seem to get there a couple of times a year..when i am coming next, I'll PM you...

Doude

I agree. Everyone sounded great!

Including my homies "The Blue Birds" with Adam Scovanner.

If it were not for Adam, I wouldn't be playing the bass. Period.

My wife and I used to go on Sunday's to Alan's Cafe and party with the Blue Birds.

I was so blown away by Adam's playing and his tone, I went and bought a bass.
He happened to be playing a Cherry Burst Lakland 5594.
I knew nothing about basses or playing the bass, but I knew I was gonna get exactly what Adam had.

And the rest, as they say is history...

The best party in Cincinnati happens every Sunday night at Alan's Cafe, with Adam rocking the bass!

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzziiiiinnnnnnggggggggggg!!!!

ouch...that shock was hot......

Wow...nice jab. I've been playing bass for quite a few years, and I have the luxury of have a nice collection of basses. I happen to have a job and a family that keeps me very busy, so I can't get out there and gig like I used to. Of coarse...this renders me absolutely tone deaf. I really can't hear anything that's good. I like the sound of nails on a chalkboard.

I'm sure you are the only "bassplayer" to own a US Lakland. So I will take your word for it, and disregard any good things I hear from all these collectors. No bassplayers on talkbass. We are just one big online Antique Road Show.

You certainly have a right to your opinion, but coming into a Lakland Thread and bashing their pickups, and then following it with a jab will not win you any friends here.

Where did you get this bass? No string retainer? Sounds like you didn't buy it from a "players" store...or you got played.

Sorry, I target you maybe because you are the guy who shows his basses at each lakland owner group, I thought it was your thread, it seems to be :)

It IS his thread......and he is PROUD of it.....damn proud of it.

I have read your complaints and feel as others do that the dealer is the issue.....also, did you ever think that shipping mayhave damaged the bass? I have been to Lakland many times and EVERY US bass gets played several times before it leaves the shop....of course they have no control once it reaches the dealer....

Sorry you had such a bad experience...Lakland will do whatever it takes to make it right, even if the dealer will not....

1) congrats on the move.....hope it all went well
2) be patient...the wait will be worth it!
3) Get a CS JO and you will have a GREAT PAIR!!

I need this tread.
I just moved to Ca.
Sold all but one of my basses. (a fretless P-bass.)
And I'm waiting for a USA Glaub / Chi-Sonic pickup.
Hopefully in 3 1/2 months.
Have major Lakland GAS !!!!
I also see a USA JO, or a Hollowbody, soon ?

Congrats JJ!

John and I were laughing about that when you won.....ironic huh?

let us know how you like it....

Hey guys, I checked my emails earlier and found out that I won the Hanson pickup giveaway!! Being a member at Laklandowners.com DEFINITELY has it's benefits!!!

I'm going to get the Neodynium split P pup (the one w/ Chisonic technology) and put it in Goblin. I've heard Markus raving about how good his sounds :), now I'll get to find out :hyper:.
