I need this tread.
I just moved to Ca.
Sold all but one of my basses. (a fretless P-bass.)
And I'm waiting for a USA Glaub / Chi-Sonic pickup.
Hopefully in 3 1/2 months.
Have major Lakland GAS !!!!
I also see a USA JO, or a Hollowbody, soon ?

Oh...yes...the dreaded wait, and ensuing GAS buildup! Yikes! Can't wait to see it! What's the rest of the specs?

Yeah, that would seem to be the logical way to approach things.

Not sure if he had to pre-order or just bought something in stock at a store, but either way, if I noticed an issue like the string retainer missing, or when picking it up at the store plugged it in and it played poorly or didn't sound right, I would have refused to take it and demanded that it be taken care of before I took it home. Then again, if our friend was as tactful about contact and service inquiries as he has been here...

Hey guys, I checked my emails earlier and found out that I won the Hanson pickup giveaway!! Being a member at Laklandowners.com DEFINITELY has it's benefits!!!

I'm going to get the Neodynium split P pup (the one w/ Chisonic technology) and put it in Goblin. I've heard Markus raving about how good his sounds , now I'll get to find out .

Question for Lakland owners: Would you trade a Geddy even up for a Lakland 55-01 that has been modified with EMG pickups and an Aguilar OP-3 preamp?

Depends on what tone you are looking for. I'd say yes..if you know you will like the tone.

Sorry Cinci people...not a big Skyline fan...as much as I LOVE chili!!!!

I get Skyline everytime I go north too, usually around the Ky/Ohio line, but not in Cinci. I don't know my way around the big city .

Sorry guys (flame suit on) I only like cream on my beer, cream soda and creamer in my coffee...(oh yeh - and whipped cream on chocolate or banana cream pie).....not a big cream pickup cover fan.....

That all depends on who is playing it.....

That JO4 is officially the best looking bass I have ever seen. Hands down. And I guarantee if I ever get to hear it, it would be the best sounding.

BTW - the "material" issue has been fixed but it set the project back at least 2 weeks!

will be well worth the wait though!

After listening to Erik Scott's fretless Decade...I was gassing! I also wanted a fretted bass to put flats on while having the same bass with rounds. The Decade in fretless just sounds so huge!! Now on the JO CSs...which should get the flats, the surfer (alder) or the MOJO (ash)?

an abalone blocked neck is the only betterment I can see.....

I've come to the realization that a bound and blocked neck is the sexiest thing ever...(as far as bass goes that is)

The only thing that I really GAS for right now is a Lakland HB. Once I add that, I think my GAS will be solved..... although a Decade would be killer
