He mentioned that I could get the stacked control knobs like the US model in my skyline, so now that's what's going to be installed in my bass while I'm waiting for the pickups to be finished. I'm stoked!![]()
Sweet! I love stacked knobs, more control--I like to back the tone on the bridge pickup down a bit to add a little more heft.Mr. John Pirruccello and Lakland were here for our morning sales meeting. It was great meeting him as well as Frank Russell who did a clinic with Norm Stockton last night.
I mentioned to John that I had a skyline 55-60 with Chi-Sonics I was waiting on and how it was going to be a couple weeks because they were currently out of the slim single-coil pickup. He mentioned that I could get the stacked control knobs like the US model in my skyline, so now that's what's going to be installed in my bass while I'm waiting for the pickups to be finished. That is super cool! I'd love to just hear GP live, never mind meet him!
Mine too
It's one of those finishes that really needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate.

EW!!!........
I always wondered if your "nice guy" image here was just a front. Now I know. ALL Gator fans are evil.... that's how I was brought up anyway

Figured I'd make a return to celebrate the 50th thread

I'm FINALLY getting a new band together!
Sigh....I've never been much of a collector and have never owned a P or J bass but you guys and those bass porn pics of those GORGEOUS Laklands are turning my GAS way up!!!!
I just got a 55-94 less than 2 weeks ago and my mouth is watering over that see thru white J

And mess with Florida/OSU championship-game tradition? Perish the thought!
Really, though, the Gators have a long way to go. I'm sweatin' bullets over BYU...
I'm in, as always. Here's a pic of my 55-02, a different one to the shot I normally post. Unfortunately my floors aren't quite as nice as Markus'

And here's a pic of me playing it when I had a mop attatched to my head:

Very cool though that you did it to support a Leukemia cause.

Oh, I also got to once again meet fellow Lakland artist and the man who inspired me to become a bassist... Mr. George Porter Jr.

He even signed the set list for me (and made a correction since he added a song).

After much lurking, googling, and gnashing of teeth, I just bought this from Funky Munky Music.
It's my first "real bass". I own a number of modded squires and an MIM Fender Deluxe Active jazz. I've been shopping for quite a while, saw some great deals on some used ones I should have grabbed and in the end went with what I first saw on the Lakland site a couple years ago, a Skyline 44-60. The old JO first caught my eye, especially in this color, this one is the slightly different, LTD version
It should be here early next week, I know I'm going to love it.
That is a thing of beauty! Man, I would LOVE to try out that model bass. But I have yet to find one in my area. Fact is I think I've only seen two Laklands in my area stores in the last few years.
Congrats! If you'd like a number, please send a PM to "basspraiser" and wait patiently, hehe.
A 55-64 would look great on you...
