Email has been sent. I'll let you know if he replies.
When my GK Fusion 550 was backordered I ended up getting it over a month earlier than the BO date they sent to my email. I can wait until 2013. I don't want to, but a RIC for only about $1100 sure helps me with patience. Hmmm. I should've bought it thru my brother in Oregon and had it shipped there, then I'd have a RIC for only a Grand like you taxless State guys. I also have 5 nice Basses to tide me over until I get it. I just sold one today or I'd have 6. Since it didn't have any flaws I probably should have just kept the one from the last sale, but paying almost $1400 was also a factor in returning it and also, to me the neck on a Bass is almost everything, but I do realize the RIC sound is a reason to own one too. I really didn't like what I thought was a hollow treble sound from my '76 4001 though, but even though it was played thru a super bassy 15" Fold horn cab, my amp at the time, a Quilter Duck head, didn't have any EQ and was basically a guitar head called a bass head. I just hope my latest RIC is one with the thinner neck like people say are being produced in late 2010 and 2011. If not I might flip it, but pretty sure I won't.I enjoy mine , its going to be used not flipped and i flip alot

Used my new RIC at another gig Friday night. Again, it killed. A couple musicians attending the gig came up thoughout the night mentioning how great the bass was sounding. Plus, I have to say, the MID blue looks great on stage.
I can't believe I waited all these years to own a RIC. No disrespect to Fender as I own Fenders but now I am getting what others have talked about for quite some time.
This bass is NOT a flipper. It has now become bass #1.
One question, I just ordered a set of RIC strings for it because of the size of them. When the rest of you put other sizes on the RIC, do you file the nut? Thanks.

I'll keep this polite so instead of cussing, I'll just say;
"Uh oh, MF just sent me a notice that they have cancelled my order."
Some excuse about not being able to ship/bill a Canadian address for Rickenbacker products. I was in fact having it shipped to a US address.
I'm not going down without a fight on this. I know damn well that they billed other Canadians and shipped to a US address (the fellow who had it overnighted to his hotel in TX for example).
While they might have an agreement with Rickenbacker to do this I'm pretty sure that laws that ensure competition in the market prohibit such restrictions on trade so it could be illegal to refuse to sell.

I received an email notification this morning that my order placed on 8/12 was on backorder, which I already knew of course. I called MF and they were able to change my order to a Jetglo for the same price. Ships tomorrow!
