You know what I think?

rolleyes: "No,
please tell us") ....
I think that Markbass have realised that they've got their pricing strategy all wrong!
They need to be more expensive ....

!
What am I saying? Have I lost my mind? Whose side am I on here?
Nobodys'! Just stating my opinion

.
Personally, I was actually
discouraged from even checking out their gear, when I went to replace my amp recently, as I had a bigger budget to play with and I thought that Markbass gear was simply "budget" equipment (this wasn't helped by the "toy-like" appearance of their amps).
It was only because of the comments posted here on TB, that I overcame my "snobbish" attitude towards that brand and decided to give it a try. Now I use just a
Little Mark II head through a
Traveler 121H cabinet and I'm more than happy with the results

!
If the truth be known, I'd
still have been happy with this head if it had cost a little more (although the cabinet was plenty expensive enough for one 12" speaker

).
I think that anyone
new to the Markbass brand, who buys an
F1, will be equally delighted with their purchase as I was with my LMII (depending on how good it sounds in comparision). We're just "the lucky few" who are around at the start of this innovative companies history and have had the good fortune to snap up "the bargain of the decade" (whoa, steady on there :scowl: ) in the shape of the LMII.
Most of all though, I think that MB
may be able to achieve higher profits by increasing margins and reducing unit sales. It just requires them to get enough brand recognition from the "gigging amateur"/"semi-pro" market sector (as opposed to the "home enthusiast"/"practising band" sector). So,
maybe that's where they're aiming at with the F1? I'm no marketing expert (obviously

), just thinking out loud.
Before you all tear me to pieces

, no, I don't have any affiliation to Markbass. I'm just trying to offer an objective perspective on their possible business strategy (albeit from the perspective of a "satisfied customer").
I'd really like to see this company make enough profit to carry on their product development and to cushion themselves against the impact of the "predatory, far-Eastern copycats", who are no doubt dissecting a
F1 in a laboratory somewhere, as we speak

!
As long as things don't go too far the other way, so that they feel that they can charge a premium for every orange and black product and accessory that they churn out (Fender, take note

), then I for one don't begrudge them a little success!
OK, let me have it .....
