212 + 410 cabs. Both 4 ohm.
What did it sound like when the crossover was going bad? It is definitely not a resonance issue with anything in the room (same sound / different room) and it is definitely coming from the cab. I have made sure everything in the cab is tightened down too. It makes the noise with the head in and out of the combo.
This weekend I will try to bypass the crossover and see if the issue persists. Maybe I am dumb, LOL, but this is driving me crazy! Probably because it sounds amazing outside of this issue and kills it with other cabs. Definitely my favorite head I have tried to date.
Just me, but I like the sound of them side-by-side when I'm inside the 5-8 foot zone around them... I doubt it makes a difference elsewhere in the particular room.
Some guys allow it's easier to hear them stacked, by virtue of being closer to the ear.
YIKES! Don't push the passive radiator button again! Spirited debate ensues.![]()
Hello all,
Just scored a WA 12" combo that is on its way to me. Have a question for folks with the extension cab. Forgive me if this is a silly question. Do you place them side by side or stack them? Does it make any difference with the passive radiator?

enjoy your new Walkabout. Great amp.
Question for those of you that have replaced your cooling fan -
I put the Silenx fan in and, when I first powered it up, the fan didn't want to turn. I started it by hand and then it ran fine. I measured voltage at the wire splices and got a bit more than 9 volts with the fan spliced in and 12 when the fan was removed. Is this normal? Does the load of the fan draw down 3 volts?
It now runs fine and is indeed silent but I have to wet my finger and hold it over the vent on the amp face to feel the air moving. I haven't had any thermal issues and don't feel much if any heat after a two hour practice but this doesn't seem quite right to me.
