Most annoying instrument (to your ears)?

I know it's been mentioned already, but it bears repeating - saxophone, but only when played over rock music. I just can't stand it. I love listening to saxophone in the context of jazz music (e.g. Coltrane, Bird, etc.) but it annoys me to no end to hear cheesy sax played over a rock track. It actually makes me angry. Haha

Also, what's up with the triangle? Are there any examples of this "instrument" being played well? :D

Bagpipes are meant to be played on a battlefield, not in a "rock" band. On a foggy morning you're on the line with your buddies loading your musket and you hear the bagpipes and snare drum approaching in the distance. You can't see them yet, but you know that that sound means there's a few hundred crazy Scottish Motherf***ers out there with 2-foot bayonets on the ends of 5-foot muskets about to charge you, you know they also carry swords in case it gets too close for guns, and you know that those guys wake up pissed off just because that's who they are. They wear skirts and are firmly secure in their masculinity because they are good at killing people who want to make something of it. Bagpipes = Death Coming For You

I hate the Dropkick Murphys.

Also, my answer is the accordion.

In WW I the Germans called the Scottish Black Watch regiment, "The ladies from Hell" because they came at them bagpipes blaring, kilts flying and bayonets mounted.

The end, this is. I only just made it :D

I'm gonna go all zen on youse now and scribble - it's the unplayed instrument that troubles me the most

mind you, some operatic compositions are pure torture.
