Mudvyane bassist is badass

despite how "good" there bass player may be i still think there one of the worst bands out there now.
thank you for voicing your opinion. What type of groups do you like. I'm curious because even people I know who don't like this type of music like at least one song from them.
i just bought LD50 on recommendation from this thread and I have to say yeah, he is definitely a cool bassist... i alsio have to say that i dont really like their music... just doesnt please my ears... mind you i've never liked the shouting, gruff voice "Ggggggrrrreuuuuurrraaaagghhh, MuthaaFr****kkaaararcggghhhhhhh" screaming type vocal thing, seems to me that 90% of bands who do this, over use it.
It's like any technique i think, over use ruins the effect - hence Flea quit slapping... If this band shouts and screams for effect or content then they're shooting themselves in the foot by doing it in every song... just my opinion tho of course, I have a feeling I'm mising the point?
So, MudVayne, I kinda like the sound, but I have to say that if it wasnt for the complex bass lines they would be just another thrash or nu-metal or whatever you wanna call it(?) band... I havent really had enough time to decide yet, but the songs didnt have a strong first imrpession on me...

all i have to say about the mudvayne bass dude is "sweet"
ive been to 2 of their(i mean his) concerts and ive seen the film clip and the making of the film clip. he is a really nice guy concidering they are best freind with slipknot. and dig is a F^$*ed song.. the singer has a huge goatee and the guitarist looks like friggn darth maul. and the bass dude NEVER took lessons. its a fact. yeah so i say

This thread is huge, I'm actually suprised how many people are into these guys. When I saw them last year I was afraid they wouldnt get any exposure.

I got the L.D 50 album last year, when it first hit the stores and I loved it right away! Ryknow sure is a great bassist imo (And he's really cool live). Well that's all i guess 
i dont get it guys, to me it is all the same, death rock. i cant even here the bass with all that ear pounding vocals and distorted guitar. to be honest with you, i think its trash. maybe if rynow comes out with a solo disc and really shows off his chops to the point that you can distinguish them from all the other nonsense going on in some of mudvaynes songs then i just may take notice. but until then ill stick with my tastes. but hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i just dont dig it.

Hey nate, that's cool, to each his own. But, the bass is REALLY loud on the album, if its not to your cup of tea, cool. But the bass is easy to hear, as far as a metal record.
Slipknot used to be my favorite band but it turns out Mudvayne kicks their ass. They far surpass Slipknot in talent, IMO, and they're way more tighter and just have better written songs. I'm not meaning to shxt on Slipknot cuz I still love them, but Mudvayne is the fxcking shxt, that's all I gotta say.
Ryknow is a good bassist. But he looks kind of... well queer. I saw him last week at the Guitar Center in Hollywood. With out that black makeup he looked kinda wimpy, but he did have a woman with him so its cool.
